Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was in town to rehab his knee at the team facility while his teammates were going through their workouts together. He saw his teammates doing wind sprints and thought they weren’t running hard enough, so he joined in and passed them four different times.

“He was off to the side working with our trainer, Eric Sugarman, and he looked out and saw the guys doing their wind sprints,” coach Leslie Frazier said on Thursday night, per 1500 ESPN Radio in the Twin Cities.

“He says, ‘You know, I don’t think they’re running hard enough.’ Eric allowed him to go out and run with them, and he passed them four different times. He finished in first four different times.”

Back up quarterback Joe Webb was quite shocked to see how well he was running. Peterson just started running on dry land a month ago and it looks like he’s on track to be ready for week one of the regular season.

“I remember (backup quarterback) Joe Webb saying, ‘I can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it,’” Frazier said. “So, he’s doing great and we’re optimistic that he’s going to be ready for that first game. I know that’s his goal and we’ll just see how he continues to progress, but he’s doing great.”

Matt Kalil To Minnesota Vikings: Key to Future Fortress

Matt Kalil to Minnesota Vikings: Key to Future Fortress Whether you like the move or not, last season the Vikings established Christian Ponder as their starting quarterback. Having Adrian Peterson is a plus, but it is not enough. Percy Harvin is a capable receiver, but also not enough. With glaring weaknesses at wide receiver and corner, followed by a need to improve the protection...

Minnesota Vikings sign WR Jerome Simpson

Simpson will miss 3 games with suspension for getting arrested for marijuana, but he was a solid #2 receiver in Cincinnati last year with 50 catches for 725 yards and 4 touchdowns. I mentioned this when I mocked Matt Kalil to the Vikings over Morris Claiborne. The Vikings priority of this year (since they aren’t going to win a lot of games no matter what) should be to figure...

Vikings see slight progress in stadium push

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Their goal finally in sight, the Minnesota Vikings summoned star power Wednesday to put extra pressure on state lawmakers nearing decisive votes on public financing for a new pro football stadium. Running back Adrian Peterson, linebacker Chad Greenway and center John Sullivan lent aid to a franchise lobbying team of nine, which is counting heads for an expected...

Minnesota Vikings Draft Strategy REVEALED!

Finally, the Minnesota Vikings draft strategy has been unveiled, and not a moment too soon!Haha, get it?! We're just throwing darts! We have no ******* idea what we're doing! Hahaha!*Kills self* Unfortunately, it looks like the arrow that the fat looking, mustachioed Zygi Wilf if throwing is aimed towards Matt Kalil or Justin Blackmon. Does that indicate anything? Does...

When Will Schwartz Go?

Keep an eye on Mitchell Schwartz to be drafted somewhere on Day 2. Schwartz is the brother of Geoff Schwartz who is an Offensive Lineman for the Vikings. Some have going to the Giants in the Second Round with pick number #63.

Vikings select Matt Kalil, Grade A+

After creating much drama over the past few days, the Vikings end up selecting the guy we assumed they had targeted all along. I was worried about this franchise for awhile there when they were reportedly considering Claiborne, but they made the right choice. After rolling the dice on Christian Ponder last year, they absolutely had to address the offensive line in this draft (especially...

Frazier desires flexibility in the secondary

Leslie Frazier couldn’t do what he wanted with the secondary last year because of injuries. The addition of a couple veterans, and what he hopes will be a draft pick, should help him implement changes. So, too, should the addition of Harrison Smith.

Season Recap: After an offseason trade for Donovan McNabb, there was hope McNabb had enough in the tank to take the team to the playoffs. Well, his year in Washington proved to be no fluke as he led the team to a 1-5 record to start the season. Rookie...

Vikings' GM Spielman trades up for S Smith

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman hinted at possibly trading back into the first round while discussing the earlier pick of Matt Kalil and he did just that. After taking Kalil, the Southern California left tackle following an earlier trade, Spielman added another first-round pick in Thursday's NFL draft by trading with the Baltimore Ravens...

Lawmakers want game-linked stadium taxes

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Some Republican lawmakers at Minnesota's Capitol have found tax increases they could support. They're proposing new taxes on the Minnesota Vikings and their fans to pay for the 1 billion stadium proposal moving at the Capitol. A group of GOP lawmakers said Thursday that's better than the current plan to use tax revenue from expanding legal gambling...
