Adrian Peterson is having one hell of a year. He’s arguably the comeback player of the year after suffering a potentially career ending injury last season, only to miss one regular season game and be back on the field in better than ever shape. Peterson has his sights set on the NFL’s All-Time rushing mark (Jeff Wheeler/Minneapolis Star Tribune) He’s unstoppable, and defenses focus on him each and every week. He’s averaging more yards per carry than his quarterback is averaging yards per pass, so undoubtedly defenses make him the focal point of their preparation. We see it on Sundays when opponents crowd the line of scrimmage and stack the box, but he still busts through and it has him on pace for a little less than 2,000 yards on the season. But don’t tell Adrian that, he’s after the all-time single season yardage record set by former Rams RB Eric Dickerson set in 1984. Peterson has his sights set on hitting 2,106. One yard more than Dickerson’s record. When asked if Dickerson should be nervous about his record being broken, Peterson said he thinks so. “I think so,” Peterson said via the Dan Patrick Show.  “I think so.” When asked if he liked his chances, Peterson said yes. “I do,” Peterson said. “The guys in front of me are doing a great job of blocking. I feel it’s possible.” AP is averaging 165 yards a game over the last five and he’s getting better every week. Here’s to hoping we can see history, and props to Adrian for his remarkable season!
