Former New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer co-hosts a show with Tim Ryan on SiriusXM NFL Radio called 'Moving the Chains', and he isn't shy about calling it like he sees it, no matter how wrong everyone else might think he is.

Toomer and Ryan discussed the two QBs today and the former Giant had this to say:

“Tony Romo is probably, if you look at it statistically, he’s probably the best quarterback in the NFC East,” Toomer said.  “You look at Eli Manning and what he does in the fourth quarter, but you talk about consistency, talking about 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions, that guy can play.”

Most would not agree with that assessment, becuase you know, after all, Eli Manning has two Super Bowl rings.

“I’m talking about, for me, if I wanted a guy that is going to throw less interceptions and be more productive, higher completion percentage, I’m going to go with Tony Romo,”.

// > In a later moment of sanity, Toomer did concede that Romo does have some serious issues when the game is on the line. “At crunch time he’s not as good as Eli but every other time he’s pretty darn good,” We'll take crunch time over every other time. Dallas Cowboys Jersey Numbers: Updates for Nos. 51 through 55

Nothing wrong with LB Keith Brooking, but he’s not a better #51 than Ken Norton. Training camp begins  in San Antonio on July 27, so it’s about time to finish this series updating the greatest Dallas Cowboys by their jersey numbers. This one focuses on number 51 through 55. #51 Several good players have worn #51, including Ken Norton and Dave Manders. Keith Brooking has worn...

Will Upgraded Secondary Prove To Be Just What The Cowboys Needed?

Morris Claiborne: Just what the doctor ordered? Are the Cowboys going to be a profitable team to back with your free NFL football picks? We give you an update on how things are shaping up for Dallas. The Cowboys suffered another late-season collapse in 2011. They got off to a fast start as they were 7-4 after Week 12, and that included a hard-fought 27-24 road win over the San...

DeMarcus Ware agrees with Jerry Jones about the Cowboys' window of opportunity

With every passing year a team that doesn't win a championship sees their window of opportunity start to slam shut. Back in May, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that the Dallas Cowboys' window is starting to close and said that the team needed to win now. Count defensive end DeMarcus Ware as one who is on board with Jones' assessment. “I feel like from my...

Tony Romo vs. Eli Manning, It’s not all about the stats

Here we go again! It’s time for Tony Romo vs. Eli Manning. The experts like Ron Jaworski have Romo ranked as the 10th best QB in the NFL. He has not ranked the top five yet, but Manning will do no worse than number five on his list. The NFLN recently completed their list of the top 100 players as voted by the players and Romo is ranked 91st and Manning is ranked 31st. What...

Free Story: Catching up with Curtis Clay

Curtis Clay went from former walk-on at TCU to earning a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys. Now he's helping players fulfill the same kind of dreams.

Martellus Bennett takes shots at Tony Romo?

After spending four unproductive (yet controversial) years with the Cowboys, Martellus Bennett signed with the Giants in March. And now the tight end appears to already be criticizing his former quarterback, Tony Romo. In an interview with Newark’s The Star-Ledger, Bennett made comments that could be interpreted as taking a dig at Romo, suggesting the Cowboys quarterback played...

WR Amani Toomer is misguided if he thinks Romo is better than Eli

I've been a big University of Michigan fan for almost 30 years, and stand up for them during good (Schembechler, Moeller, Carr and hopefully Hoke) or bad (Rich Rodriguez) seasons, but the comment Wolverine alumni and former NY Giants WR Amani Toomer made about Dallas QB Tony Romo being better than NY Giant QB Eli manning is way off. Toomer, who is now working in media for MSG...

Morning Huddle - Romo better than Manning?

This is why I'd take Manning over Romo in a heartbeat. Anytime someone talks about Tony Romo as an elite quarterback, I tend to cringe a little and walk away. Every now and then, someone like Amani Toomer compares Romo to another established quarterback, in this case Eli Manning, and says Romo is the better quarterback. From a purely numbers perspective, Tony Romo is a very...

Tony Romo May Have Better Stats Than Eli Manning, But He's Not a Better Quarterback

Perhaps the signature moment of Tony Romo's career is him fumbling the ball away on a potential go-ahead field goal latein his first playoff game against the Seahawks back in 2007. The signature moment of Eli Manning's career, on the other hand, is either one of the two impossible throws he made in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI to David Tyree and Mario Manningham, respectively...

Amani Toomer stands by his Tony Romo, Eli Manning comments

For those of you that thought maybe former Giants WR Amani Toomer would backtrack on his assessment that Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is better than Eli Manning, you’re dead wrong. He stands by what he said, no matter how wrong he is. Toomer was on ESPN New York’s Michael Kay Show Friday and said, “I love Eli, and I respect the hell out of him as a person,” “But I have...
