One of the biggest free agent coaches this off-season didn’t last long on the open market. We knew former Eagles’ head man Andy Reid was going to get fired about ten times longer than he actually lasted without a job. Kansas City jumped on the long time Philly coach to attempt to put life back into the proud Chiefs franchise. It will take some time to see if Reid can turn around KC, but his hiring will have an immediate impact on fantasy football – especially if he can get improved play out of one key player. Things went south quickly for Reid in Philadelphia, but before you make any walrus jokes, for years Reid had solid teams and very good offenses. Five times Reid had his team in the top five in scoring offense – eight times in the top ten. Seven times Reid’s teams were in the top ten in yardage – three times in the top five. Some of that positive momentum was undone with a truly terrible season in 2012. However, the fact remains – Reid can coach offense. According to the Pro Bowl rosters, there is a lot of talent for a team that only won two games in 2012. They sent six guys to Hawaii. The cupboard is not as bare is it might seem when looking at a 2-14 team. To add to that, they will be able to add a marquee rookie at the top of the draft or trade that pick to accumulate multiple selections. An influx of young talent will only add to the weapons Reid will have at his disposal. The home of Arthur Bryant’s BBQ has some talented football players on offense and might be able to turn the team’s fortunes around quickly in Missouri. Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (assuming he comes back) is one of the most physical wide receivers in the league. Bowe has more talent than almost all the wide outs Reid had to work with in all his years in Philly. Pro Bowl runningback Jamaal Charles is a dual-threat who is coming off a great statistical season despite a knee injury in 2011. Although he hasn’t shown he is as versatile, with over 1,700 yards from scrimmage last season Charles has the ability to be a poor man’s Brian Westbrook. The thing that could prevent Reid from quickly turning around the offense is his quarterback – Matt Cassel. Since coming over as a free agent from New England in 2009 Cassel has not lived up to maybe unrealistic expectations. He cashed in big off of one season in which he stepped in for an injured Tom Brady. Since then Cassel and his team have been largely up and down. If Reid can get his quarterback back on track the Arrowhead faithful will have plenty to cheer about. Both Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs were in the need of a fresh start. It might not happen overnight, but Reid and the Chiefs have pieces in place to get the franchise moving in the right direction. Improved fantasy production from the Kansas City Chiefs should be seen from day one and an improved record is sure to follow.

Offseason Needs: Philadelphia Eagles

1. Quarterback The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to end the Michael Vick era this offseason. And while Nick Foles may be worth developing, he isn’t an immediate answer to their issues at quarterback. If they’re interested in keeping Foles, then signing a veteran makes the most sense. But if the new regime isn’t interested in Foles, Geno Smith may be a first-round option...

Report: Eagles likely won’t cut Michael Vick right away

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t worried about releasing quarterback Michael Vick before his February 6th roster bonus kicks in.  The bonus will guarantee him $3 million of his $16.5 million 2013 salary.  Vick’s contract likely won’t be resolved by then. New coach Chip Kelly is evaluating the situation and how Vick fits in his spread...

Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman Likes to Draft Senior Bowl Players

Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles have a history of drafting players who participated in the Senior Bowl.  With this year’s Senior Bowl week in the books, we may be able to start identifying potential Eagles targets. With Chip Kelly and a new coaching staff involved, we don’t have any drafting trends to look at so we could see Howie alter his M.O.  Another thing...

Eagles Rumors: Michael Vick Decision Not Coming Soon

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has a clause in his contract in which he’ll be guaranteed $3 million for next year on Feb. 6. For this reason, Vick’s situation and Philadelphia’s ultimate decision on the veteran doesn’t appear...

LeSean McCoy apologizes for Twitter meltdown

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is known for his highlight stick jukability.  Unfortunately for McCoy, he couldn't escape from one of the most bizarre Twitter meltdowns we've seen from a professional athlete this weekend.  McCoy got in a VERY nasty spat with the mother of his child for all the world to see.  This included McCoy calling his "BM"...
