The sun is shining brighter in Kansas City this morning. After four years of a less than mediocre regime, Scott Pioli is out of Kansas City, and faith and hope has been restored in fans. The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that they have parted ways with Pioli—who served as the GM for four years—in what was considered a ‘mutual agreement.’Speculation began at the end of the season that Pioli’s time in Kansas City was up after head coach Romeo Crennel was fired, and Clark Hunt stated that “no final determination has been made at this point on the future of GM Scott Pioli.”That determination has been made.Hunt stated that he himself would lead the search for a new head coach, and immediately went after long-time Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid. Reid, who spent 14 years with the Eagles, was fired at the end of a disappointing 4-12 season.Pioli was present during the Chiefs meeting with Reid on Wednesday - that lasted nearly nine hours - but it is not known to what role he played in the meeting. I’m sure it wasn’t much. Fans had been calling for change throughout the entire season, and Hunt finally answered it.This morning, a new era has begun, as Pioli is being ushered out, and a sweep of change is being brought in. A deal with Reid has been reached, and is in as the new head coach of the Chiefs.According to sources, Reid would bring in his own staff, including Tom Heckert as a possible GM, and Pat Shurmur as a possible offensive coordinator.Fans haven’t seen a winning team in years, and finally have something to be excited. Despite any reservations fans may have about Reid, Hunt is delivering a clear statement: he is willing to do whatever it takes to win.  The feeling of oppression has been lifted, and light has been let into the dark hole that the entire Chiefs organization has been sitting in. For the first time in four years, things are beginning to look good for the Chiefs. The day that all fans have been waiting for is finally here. Scott Pioli is gone, and a winning is team is in sight.
