Andy Reid is all about gamesmanship, and with his Kansas City Chiefs owning the #1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Reid is holding all the cards.
The Chiefs traded for quarterback Alex Smith, so all indications were that the Chiefs would have their sights set on offensive tackle.
Not so fast according to Reid. The Chiefs are very aware that any team that covets quarterback Geno Smith will most likely have to trade up to the top of draft to acquire his services.
Reid told Birds 24/7 that his own team drafting Geno Smith is not out of the question.
“That doesn’t mean Geno is out of the water,” said Reid, surrounded by a group of Philadelphia reporters during the second day of the owners meetings. “I’m going to keep my eyes open on everybody. I think Geno is a good quarterback. We’ll just see how it all goes, get this workout thing going.”
Reid was asked how many players he’s considering with the top pick. Not surprisingly, he stated 8-10.
“You can’t force a pick there. You can’t say, ‘I need this position’ or you’re going to miss a good football player, and that’s what you want to get from that position right there,” said the former Eagles coach, who was celebrating his 55th birthday Tuesday. “So we’re going to work everybody out and see what’s available.”

The Super Bowl has traditionally been held in a city with warm weather, or at least been played in a dome when it’s been in a cold city. But that’s about to change next year when the Super Bowl will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey — an outdoor stadium which serves as the home field for the New York Jets and Giants.

I wanted this piece to be a history of the best tradebacks in Eagles draft lore. Trading back is when you deal an earlier pick to another team for two or more of their later picks...or some other valuable consideration.
It seems to me the way to go if you want the most bang for your draft buck.
The NFL is hell-bent on passing a new rules proposal that would penalize a runner for lowering his head and leading with the helmet at the point of contact with a defender.
Pro Football Talk is reporting that Browns running back Trent Richardson and specifically the blow he lowered onto Eagles safety Kurt Coleman will be the standard that the rule will be based off.
As the NFL...
