Staubach Gates won election to the Dallas City Council on Saturday, besting her opponent by a nearly 2-1 margin. Staubach Gates looks like her mother, Marianne, but competes like her father in pulling out a seemingly improbable victory. Her opponent, Leland Burk, is an experienced businessman and investor who had the endorsement of the previous two council members from Dallas' District 13.
