According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, linebacker Anthony Spencer has signed his franchise tender, which will pay him $8.8 million for the 2012 season.
Spencer’s agent met with the Cowboys last week trying to get a long-term deal done, but nothing got finalized. Both sides will have until July 15th to get something done. Once they pass that date, Spencer will be forced to play the 2012 season under the tag.
