New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie told the New York Post that new general manager John Idzik needs to get quarterback Mark Sanchez more help. “He needs a better supporting cast,” Cromartie said. “That’s something the new GM has to look at and evaluate as he’s looking at the roster. He needs to get Mark some help.” Cromartie stressed that they’re confident in Sanchez. “We have confidence in Mark,” he said. “Like I’ve always said, even with the whole [Tim] Tebow thing, if we’re going to sign Mark to a three-year extension, we need to make sure we put guys around him.” “If he has good, veteran players around him — ones that know how to practice and compete at a high level every day — then you’ll have a better quarterback,” Cromartie said. “But when you don’t have a supporting cast around him, you’re going to get an average or below-average quarterback. That’s what we got.”     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

New Jets General Manager John Idzik Says He ‘Got a Really Good Feeling’ From Mark Sanchez for Quarterback Spot

People start saying strange things, and most of those people become Sanchez fans. New Jets general manager John Idzik has apparently joined that club and thinks Sanchez should still have a chance at the Jets’...

Cromartie Thinks Sanchez Needs A Better Supporting Cast

As the Jets try to clean up their mess, the one consistent question that remains is what will the team do about Mark Sanchez. Mark Sanchez is a New York Jet, and that's about all he can ask for right now.The much-maligned signal-caller, coming off his fourth and worst season, will head into the 2013 offseason without the starting job in hand for the first time since 2010. Jets GM: Sanchez will have competition

New York Jets general manager John Idzik was groomed in an organization built on the premise of competition bulding contenders, an idea he's ready to introduce in his first days on the job with his new team. Idzik, introduced last week as Mike Tannenbaum's replacement, will have control over the roster and personnel decisions. That includes the ongoing hot-button topic...

Report: Some people within Jets’ organization would rather trade Cromartie than Revis

According to ESPNNewYork.com, there’s a small portion of the Jets organization that would rather trade cornerback Antonio Cromartie than Darrelle Revis. Let’s think about this for a second: Cromartie’s trade value never will be higher; he’s coming off arguably his best year. A Cromartie trade would clear $8.2 million in cap room (only $2.5 million in dead money); a Revis...
