Kansas City's own Arrowhead Stadium played host to the Big 12 championship game where The Oklahoma Sooners took on The Nebraska Cornhuskers and came away with the big V. Nebraska had a lot riding on this match since the Cornhuskers have not made the title game appearance since 6 years earlier. Head Coach Bill Callahan apologized to Cornhusker fans for his performance in the game. He would not specify any particular plays in the 21-7 loss against the Sooners simply stating, "I was dissapointed in everything I did". So were fans. But the blame cannot be laid entirely on the coach. The Cornhuskers out yarded the Sooners but did allow 5 turnovers. Once the score got to 14-0 things looked desperate as the Nebraskan boys abandonded thier strong run game throwing at one point 20 back to back passing plays.
