Anwar Richardson of MLive.com reports that “at least four teams” have shown interest in free agent DE Cliff Avril.
Richardson adds that it’s unknown whether or not the Lions are among the interested teams in Avril.
Avril, 27, is clearly among the most sought after free agents and the fact that NFL teams believe he can play 3-4 outside linebacker only adds to his value.
He reportedly rejected a three-year deal worth $30 million and included as much as $20 million guaranteed last season. Clearly, that was the right move for him given that the Lions wound up paying him a franchise tender of $10.605 million last season and he’s now poised to beat those figures by a large margin.
The Browns are rumored to be one of the teams with serious interest in Avril.
We have him listed as the No. 4 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

There are several teams searching for an elite pass rusher, while the Cleveland Browns reportedly planned to pursue Avril during free agency. Several 3-4 defensive teams, like Cleveland...

Detroit defensive end Cliff Avril, a Browns target, told MLive.com Friday he hasn't talked to the Lions and that he can switch to linebacker in a 3-4.
"We haven't really been talking, but there's still a few days," Avril said. "Maybe they will make a strong push, or we'll make a push with them. At the same time, we haven't really been talking...
Report: Detroit Lions bring in Louis Delmas for Physical
While many had safely assumed the Detroit Lions were going to part ways with often injured safety Louis Delmas, it appears that may not be the case. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions have flown in the soon-to-be free agent for a physical with the team’s doctors. Perhaps a prelude to the two sides coming to an [...]
Lions DT Sammie Hill Reportedly Drawing Interest From Multiple Teams
It's looking more and more like the Detroit Lions are going to have a tough time re-signing defensive tackle Sammie Hill. His agent said earlier this week that Hill is almost certainly going to test free agency, and MLive's Anwar Richardson reports that at least four teams have already expressed interest in him.
Perhaps the most interesting tidbit from Richardson's...
Fan gets Detroit Lions logo Tattoo on his Chest (Photo)
Regardless of what you think of it, I will say the artist did some nice work. Courtesy of Blacksportsonline, a Detroit Lions fan was so dedicated to his team, he got a rather large tattoo of the Lions logo on his body. I think he took the term ‘Fan’ to a whole new level.
‘Kickalicious’ YouTube Kicker Heading to Pro Camp, Looking to Get Signed by NFL Team
SAN DIEGO — Just call him “Kickalicious.” That’s what coaches with the Detroit Lions did after they couldn’t pronounce Havard Rugland‘s name during a tryout earlier this week. Rugland is the Norwegian Internet kicking sensation who hopes to parlay his incredible trick-shot video — which he called “Kickalicious” — into a dream job kicking for an NFL team. Next...
Louis Delmas left town sans contract
Louis Delmas was in Detroit yesterday to take a physical. The conventional wisdom was that if he has passed said physical that the Detroit Lions would have resigned him. That does not appear to have happened and Lions fans have to wonder why. Delmas is without question the emotional leader of this defense, but his [...]
Lions’ players are recruiting Reggie Bush
According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, a player from the Detroit Lions told him that they’re trying to get Dolphins’ running back Reggie Bush to sign with the Lions when he hits the free agent market this coming week.
The Lions would be a great fit for Bush. The only problem is that they don’t have the cap room needed to sign him. They’re going to need to make some...
PFT: Cardinals, Lions are teams to watch for Reggie Bush
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com made a case for both the Lions and Cardinals being possible landing spots for Reggie Bush.
Teams to watch include the Lions and the Cardinals. Detroit previously has been linked to Bush, a move that would be no surprise in light of the fact that Jahvid Best likely will never play football again. The Cardinals simply need the talent, and Bush...

Lions FS Louis Delmas Flies In For Physical, Leaves Without Signing
It should surprise no one the Lions would fly safety Louis Delmas to Detroit for a thorough medical examination on the eve of free agency, which they did Friday.
It's a little thing called due diligence.
"Injury questions always come into play," general manager Martin Mayhew said last month regarding Delmas. "You want to know what you are buying. I think...
Fans Gets a Detroit Lions Tattoo On His Chest (Photo)
If you want to look at this glass half full, at least it wasn’t Megatron face on his body, but the question still begs…
WHY???
It is at least nicely done, so I will give he Tattoo artist a slow clap, but I don’t think you are going to impress many women with the Lions tatted on your side.
I just don’t understand fans.
