Detroit Lions' Ndamukong Suh heard plenty from several Atlanta Falcons players after the game the two teams player on Sunday. In this article published on yahoo, it states that several of the Falcon players ripped into Suh after the game, saying he and Lions' defensive end Cliff Avril were dirty players.
The Falcon players stated the following;
"I had respect for Suh before the game," Falcons center Todd McClure said after the game. "But when Matt was on the ground, the things he was saying and the trash he was talking was definitely uncalled for. There are certain things you don't do. [He said], 'Get the cart' and several other things that I can't repeat."
And it did not stop there.
Receiver Roddy White agreed. "I lost a whole lot of respect for 90 [Suh] today, and also 92 Cliff Avril, the [bleep] they were doing when Matt got hurt. That was unacceptable. … Like 92 was kicking [Ryan's] feet, saying, 'Get him off the field.' We don't do stuff like that. We don't rally over guys when they get hurt. It was just inappropriate behavior. I mean, 'Get the cart'? Are you serious? Come on. When you compete, you never want to see a guy get hurt."
I have two issues with this.
1. If you watched the footage, you could see the referees around the scene. Do you think for one moment they would allow the Lions' players to get away with kicking a NFL quarterback who is injured on the ground? If you do, then you must have missed the instances where the Quarterbacks are being treated like China Dolls wrapped in bubble wrap.
2. These are professionals and while they may get amped up on Sundays, they all know that the possibility of getting hurt is there on every play. No one is goig to wish the other one to get hurt and do not take comfort in it.
On a sidenote, it is entertaining to hear this from the Falcons offense considering many in the league feel the Falcons line is one of the dirtiest.
