Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo went on a Twitter rant while watching the New England Patriots playoff victory over the Houston Texans last weekend, which he now regrets. Coach John Harbaugh caught wind of Ayanbadejo's tweets, one of them he called the Patriots' quick-snap offense a gimmick, and asked to have a conversation with the key special-teams player immediately. “It was something that came off in a negative light so I just made an apology to my teammates and to the organization for representing us in a selfish manner,” Ayanbadejo said. “I knew Coach Harbaugh had wanted to talk to me and what not. I knew once I tweeted. Then the fans started bantering back at me and I started back at them and I was having a good time doing it. It became something bigger than it really was so it was the right thing to do, to make an apology.” The Ravens and Patriots will rematch on Sunday for the AFC championship. Ayanbadejo says he often tweets about controversial things, but this time he was tweeting like a fan and it backfired.   “I go on Twitter quite often and engage in usually positive things and talk about things people don’t want to talk about, whether we’re talking about gun control or same sex marriage,” said Ayanbadejo, who supports both. “Also when I’m watching games, whether it’s NBA, college football, (college) basketball, MMA, I make my opinions. “But when it comes to football I’m not a fan. I can’t tweet like I’m a fan. This time it bit me in the butt. I made it right and now we’re moving on to the AFC championship game and, hopefully, to New Orleans (for the Super Bowl) as well.”
