The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Cleveland Browns 23-16 on Thursday Night Football to improve their record to 3-1 on the season and move into first place in the AFC North. The marquee players for the Ravens, for the most part, showed up and performed well to help lead Baltimore to the victory. (Joe Flacco, Torrey Smith, Anquan Boldin, Ed Reed) On the other hand, the Ravens received performances well worth writing about from some players you do not normally read about.

Here is my list of the Unsung Studs of week 4 for the Ravens:

  • DB Cary Williams: Ok, so maybe Williams isn't unsung as I am sure all of you have read about this guy this week, but recently he had been strongly criticized for his performance against the New England Patriots and had ZERO career interceptions before Thursday Night's game. He made the play of the game returning an interception for a touchdown from Browns quarterback Brandon Weeded in the third quarter that gave the Ravens a two possession lead they would not relinquish.
  • RB Bernard Pearce: As the third down back for the most part, Pearce was the featured back on a "rest" drive for Ray Rice and chipped in 48 yards on six carries in the game that comes to a yards per carry average of EIGHT!
  • DE Albert McClellan: Unless you are a Ravens fan, or a die-hard football fan, you may be asking yourself, "who?" McClellan led the Ravens in both tackles and tackles for loss in Thursday Night's victory. McClellan had eight total tackles and two tackles for a loss.
  • P Sam Koch: Koch had a pretty good night punting the football for the Ravens averaging 46 yards per punt and placing three of his seven punts inside the 20, including his final punt that resulted in the Browns needing to drive the football 90 yards on the final drive for a win, which we all know did not happen.

If the Baltimore Ravens are going to fulfill the goal of being Super Bowl Champions this season, they will need to continue to receive these types of performances from these players and others.
