Steelers back up running back Baron Batch took to his blog to update his status and post a video of himself working out.  He is almost completely healthy and has been released to workout at full capacity.  Batch feels his is about 90% right now and plans to be ready to go for Steelers training camp in July.

It will be good to have Batch back in the mix.  He was the stand out of camp last season.  Prior to the injury he was making waves with his coaches and teammates.  He is extremely fast and catches the ball well out of the backfield.  The most important part about that though with him working his way towards being the third down back is that he can block.  He was a stud in backs on backers drills last July.

Batch will be a huge bright spot coming back.  While Mewelde Moore was good in the role of third down back.  I think Batch can bring a bigger dynamic.  He will be harder to cover.  He will also cover Ben Roethlisberger’s butt if a block is missed.  Once Batch is fully healed and back at camp I can not wait to see what he looks like on the field.

Glad to see your healthy Baron.  Cant wait to see you on the field.
