There are many things that can keep a football player away from practice. Some of the more common things include injuries, personal matters, and traffic, but what about a piece of candy?Yes, that's right. A piece of candy.Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church reportedly missed practice on Monday because of an injury sustained from a cherry Jolly Rancher.A few weeks ago, Church was sucking away on his favorite hard candy when he bit down and chipped his tooth. He experienced some pain, but didn't worry about it, until the pain became too much when he awoke Monday morning.Church described the pain as "crazy" and proceeded to make a trip to the dentist to undergo a root canal. Meanwhile, Church was forced to miss practice.“It's good. I was numbed up yesterday because of the dentist appointment,” Church said Tuesday, via the Fort Worth Star Telegram. “They didn't want me to practice [Monday].”The Cowboys have also issued Church an ultimatum: no more Jolly Ranchers until after the season.“I have to stick to the soft stuff -- Starburst, Skittles, stuff like that,” he said.Via Eye on Football
