New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott told Inside the NFL that he’s scheduled to undergo toe surgery this Friday.
With Scott scheduled to earn $6.9 million next season, there’s a good chance he’ll be rehabbing his toe as a free agent.
The Jets need to free up as much cap room as they can because they don’t have any.  Former general manager Mike Tannenbaum put them in a hole after giving quarterback Mark Sanchez an extension last offseason.  Other bad financial moves have also put the Jets in their current predicament.
