Cardinals running back Beanie Wells doesn’t think he’ll be calling Arizona home next season.  He believes he’ll end up playing for one of the other 31 NFL teams. “That’s my mind-set,” Wells said, a day after he was benched following a fumble that was recovered and returned for a touchdown in Arizona’s 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears. “I’m just going to go out there and put my best foot forward for all the 31 other teams that’s watching.” Asked to confirm if he felt his days were numbered with the Cardinals, Wells replied: “Oh, without a doubt. It’s inevitable.” Wells won’t be able to command a lot of money in the open market because of how injury prone he’s been over the course of his career.  But there’s no doubt that when he’s healthy, he’s a very good running back.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI

Beanie Wells Using Week 17 as Audition

Arizona running back Beanie Wells is using next week's game against San Francisco as an "audition for a job somewhere else."Fantasy Spin:It's pretty clear Wells wants out after another frustrating season for the listless Cardinals. Wells has been a fantasy disappointment this season (234 yards, five TD in eight games) but perhaps playing for a new team will rejuvenate him.

Arizona places Housler on IR, promotes WR Taylor

The Arizona Cardinals have placed tight end Rob Housler on injured reserve and promoted wide receiver Kerry Taylor to the active roster. Housler is the team's third-leading receiver with 45 catches for 417 yards and a touchdown. He injured his shoulder in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears. Taylor, who grew up in nearby Chandler, Ariz., and played for Arizona State...

Darnell Dockett was in need of some serious loving on Christmas

It has been a long and grueling season for Darnell Dockett and the rest of the Arizona Cardinals. For many of the team’s players, Christmas likely served as a welcome distraction from a season in which they have lost 10 out of their last 11 games. Dockett, on the other hand, seemed like he was a bit lonely during the holiday season. On Christmas night, Dockett took to Twitter to...

In final week, Cardinals have QB issues, as usual

The Arizona Cardinals entered the final week of the season with uncertainty at quarterback. How fitting for a team that's misery on the field has been defined by poor play at that position. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday he wasn't ready to say whether Brian Hoyer would be the choice, although it seems a pretty good guess considering the problems that Ryan Lindley has...

Brian Hoyer will get the start this week for Arizona

Brian Hoyer is expected to get his first NFL start this week after being claimed a few weeks ago by the Cardinals. We had said on the site that this move would be coming, because Hoyer is a gamer and they will want to see what he can do for them before the end of the season. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday the former Michigan State quarterback and New England backup will start...

Hoyer to start at QB for Cardinals in final game

Around and around the Arizona Cardinals' quarterback carousel turns, and this week it's Brian Hoyer's turn to take a spin as the starter. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday that Hoyer will be the Cardinals' fourth starting quarterback this season when they face San Francisco in their regular-season finale on Sunday. Hoyer follows injured Kevin Kolb, John Skelton...

Peterson earns Pro Bowl berth at cornerback

TEMPE, Ariz. Patrick Peterson was named to the 2012 NFC Pro Bowl roster on Wednesday, becoming the first Cardinal to earn Pro Bowl nods in each of his first two seasons since Vai Sikahema did it in 1986 and 87. He also joined Hall of Famer Rod Woodson as the only two NFL players ever to earn Pro Bowl selections as a returner and as a defensive player. "It definitely solidifies...

Joey Porter Nearly Spent Christmas in Jail After Arrest for Cutting Bad Check in Las Vegas

During his playing days, Joey Porter was known as one of the NFL’s fiercest linebackers, going to the Pro Bowl four times and winning Super Bowl XL with the Steelers in 2006. The last he was heard from was with Arizona in the 2011 season, signing a one-day contract to retire as a Steeler back in July. However, though it’s not uncommon for NFL players to get themselves in financial...
