The Chicago Bears announced that DT Sedrick Ellis did not report to the team’s training camp and has informed them that he intends to retire from the NFL.
Ellis, 28, signed a one-year contract worth $1 million and included $500,000 guaranteed in June. The former seventh-overall pick of the 2008 draft has been a huge bust over the course of his career with the Saints.
The Chicago Bears say defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis has decided to retire rather than report to training camp.
The Bears announced the move on Thursday. They are scheduled to begin practicing on Friday, but Ellis won't be there.

Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery dropped a bit of a bombshell on Wednesday when he announced that the team would not be signing any players to contract extensions during the 2013 season. That means the team’s quarterback, Jay Cutler, won’t be getting a new deal before the 2014 season.

Marinelli was one of the best defensive line coaches in...

Defensive end Jamaal Anderson, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, has inked a deal with the Chicago Bears and will fill the void in the training camp roster that was created when defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis abruptly retired from the National Football League.
Anderson was originally drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2007 and has played in 77 games, accumulating a meager 7.5 total...
Returning to work with Jay Cutler was a blessing for Brandon Marshall in 2012. He was the only wide receiver last year to finish top-4 in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. CBS currently has Marshall ranked as the No. 4 wide-out, projecting his draft value in the beginning of the third round. I'm going to tell you why he's more valuable than this.
Brandon Marshall was targeted...
