Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is doing his best to keep his mind on business.

With contract talks at a standstill and the potential of the team placing the franchise tag on him, Forte is trying to just focus on football.

"I know I'm loyal to my teammates and my team are my guys, but it doesn't seem like the organization is to me," Forte said. "But that doesn't keep me from going out on the field and putting my best out there."

"I play for myself and my teammates and my family. I learned that it really is a business and that they really don't care about your personal life or anything like that. It's the National Football League and these organizations are in a business."

Well, business is good considering that the 25-year-old Forte leads the league with 1,091 yards from scrimmage.

In his fourth season out of Tulane, Forte is attempting to become the third player to reach 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season - all for the bargain price of $600,000 in the final year of his rookie deal.

Forte has rushed 124 times for 672 yards and a pair of touchdowns while reeling in 38 receptions for 419 yards and a score.
