Bengals' 3-time Pro Bowler shows up for offseason workouts after requesting trade from team

This is obviously a positive step for Hendrickson and the Bengals. The 29-year old has racked up 39.5 sacks and three Pro Bowl honors since signing with Cincinnati back in 2021. He shocked Cincinnati fans by requesting a trade from the team on April 24, the day before the NFL Draft. 

Hendrickson reportedly wasn't happy about the Bengals not extending him to a long-term deal last offseason. The Bengals signed Hendrickson to just a one-year extension that will keep him under contract through the 2025 season. It also acted as a raise for him as well.

Soon after the draft and Hendrickson's initial request, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that a meeting between Hendrickson and the Bengals was to be held regarding the dispute.

If Hendrickson is back practicing with the team before mandatory minicamp even began, it stands to reason that meeting went well.

The Bengals have shown no interest in trading Hendrickson, and inking him to a new deal just one year after paying him an additional $21 million should still be considered unlikely. Hendrickson showing up to practice at all would only be hurting any leverage he had, so he might've already rescinded his trade request.
