The Cincinnati Bengals made every fan question their reality and whether or not they were dreaming when they decided to pull the trigger, trading disgruntled quarterback Carson Palmer to the Oakland Raiders on October 18, 2011.
What really made us all pinch ourselves was what we got for him. The Bengals got a first-round pick in the 2012 NFL draft, which they used on cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, and they got a conditional pick in the 2013 NFL draft, which could become a first-round pick if the Raiders made it to the AFC Championship game in 2011.
According to Steve Corkran, the Raiders blogger for the Contra Costa Times, the Bengals will be stuck with an extra second-round pick in 2013, which cannot be upgraded to a first, no matter what happens in 2012.
