The Bengals have picked Josh Johnson as their backup quarterback, waiving John Skelton as they got down to the 53-man roster limit on Saturday. They placed linebacker Emmanuel Lamur on injured reserve with an injured right shoulder, which he dislocated during the final preseason game against Indianapolis on Thursday night. Reserve offensive tackle Dennis Roland also was released. Running back Bernard Scott went on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from knee surgery last season. He's eligible to return to practice after the sixth week of the season if he's cleared medically. Second-round draft pick Giovani Bernard has taken the No. 2 spot at running back behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis. The Bengals open the season next Sunday at Chicago.
