According to ProFootballWeekly.com, even though Cincinnati Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis has struggled to hold on to the football this season, he’s in no danger of losing his starting job. “Although Bengals RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis has struggled with fumbles of late, we hear there’s no reason to believe he’s in any major imminent danger of losing his prominent role in the Cincinnati backfield. RB Bernard Scott has dealt with injuries for much of the season, and there are no other real threats for major work in the backfield. Green-Ellis’ steadiness has been his calling card throughout his career, and he’ll get his chances to prove his ball-security issues are a mere blip on the radar screen,” wrote PFW.

Bengals RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis' Job Not On The Line Despite Fumbling Issues

While Bengals RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis has struggled with fumbles of late, we hear there’s no reason to believe he’s in any major imminent danger of losing his prominent role in the Cincinnati backfield. RB Bernard Scott has dealt with injuries for much of the season, and there are no other real threats for major work in the backfield. Green-Ellis’ steadiness has been his calling...

Cincinnati Bengals Must Utilize New Trade Deadline

When the NFL and the NFLPA agreed this offseason to move the trading deadline back two weeks, they did it in hopes of having more trade activity at the deadline and give teams and players a chance to make significant moves later in the season. The deadline is now the Tuesday following Week 8, which coincidentally is the Bengals’ bye-week, meaning that if they were to make a trade...

Is A.J. Green and Andy Dalton The NFL’s Best Young QB-WR Combo?

Cincinnati Bengals’ second year wide receiver from Georgia A.J. Green was named by the NFL as AFC Offensive Player of the Month Thursday.  He nearly achieved a triple crown of sorts in for September showdowns. Green led the AFC in receptions (27), was second in receiving yards (428) and tied for most touchdowns (three) among AFC receivers.  Beyond his statistics, he continued...

From across the pond, part 1

I’ll try to write a column a week, maybe for a Thursday but more than likely a Friday The Bengals entertain the Dolphins this Sunday, sadly or not so sadly for some there will be no reunion between the Bengals and Chad Johnson/Ochocinco or whatever he calls himself  now. Instead Tannehill, Hartline and the Bush you can support and the gang roll into town. I firmly believe that...

Bengals RB Bernard Scott Questionable To Return With Knee Injury

Bengals running back Bernard Scott surprisingly cut through the Miami Dolphins defense for a 29-yard gain with under six minutes remaining in the first quarter. During the possession Scott generated 40 yards rushing on five carries, which eventually led to Mike Nugent's second field goal of the afternoon. However during his last attempt, Scott limped to the sidelines and is...

Bengals Fear RB Bernard Scott Tore His ACL

Bernard Scott easily had the best run of the afternoon, shooting through the line of scrimmage with 5:56 remaining in the first quarter, and shedding attempted tackles on his way to a 29-yard gain. Yet at one point during possession's conclusion which predictably ended with a field goal and 6-0 lead, Scott limped off the field, listed as questionable and never returned. By...

Cincinnati Bengals Getting Much-Needed Boost on Defense

Despite having one of the NFL’s worst-ranked defenses going into Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars, as well as being down three opening-day starters(Thomas Howard, Nate Clements, Leon Hall), the Bengals rose up to the challenge and held the Jaguars in check for much of the game en route to a 27-10 victory. The story of the game was the pressure they were able to get on QB Blaine...

Bengals To Start Terence Newman At CB, Nate Clements At Safety

According to the Bengals beat writers who receive the active reports 90 minutes before kickoff, Bengals cornerback Nate Clements is starting against the Miami Dolphins at strong safety with Taylor Mays being named as his backup. Terence Newman will start at left cornerback in place of Clements' shift. There are also some noting that defensive end Carlos Dunlap is listed as...

Dolphins-Bengals Inactives

As the Bengals prepare to face the Dolphins at PBS in about 30 minutes, here’s a quick glance at the inactives. The Bengals are sitting some of the usual suspects, particularly DB’s Dre Kirkpatrick and Jason Allen, both of whom are still recovering from injuries.  They’ve been down pretty much all year, so its no surprise.  The good news is that Leon Hall and Nate Clements...

Defense preserves Dolphins win over Bengals

CINCINNATI (AP) -- No last-minute heartbreak for the Dolphins this time. Reshad Jones put it away with a saving interception. Jones picked off Andy Dalton's overthrown pass at midfield with 1:22 left on Sunday, preserving a 17-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals that ended two weeks of miserable finishes for Miami. Miami (2-3) had dropped its past two games in overtime...

Miami Dolphins vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Hero and Zero of the Game

With the score 7-6 at halftime in favor of the Dolphins, the game could have been considered a snore.  Both the Cincinnati and Miami offenses were looking problematic, struggling to stay on the field and incapable of carrying the ball. The game would not get too much better in the second half as both teams would combine to score only 17 more points, 10 of those going to Miami...
