According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, that’s exactly what Sean Payton is talking to Bill Pacells about doing for the Saints in the 2012 season. While Parcells hasn’t coached since 2006 when his four-year run with the Dallas Cowboys came to a close, it has to be quite intriguing to both sides.
But would Parcells do it? He’ll be 71 by the time the 2012 season starts and that’s a lot of commitment for a guy who has been away from the sideline for so long.
His credentials are still remarkable to glance over as well as his two super bowl rings. In 22 years coaching in the NFL, Parcells won 57% of his games and a lot of that was with teams with much less talent than the Saints currently possess.
