The Buffalo Bills and Entercom Communications are expected to announce that the team's radio broadcasts will return to WGR 550. After Cumulus Media announced Monday that it was out of the bidding for the Bills' radio rights, Entercom seemed like the logical place for the games to land. Entercom owns WGR -- the all-sports station that also carries Buffalo Sabres games -- along with WBEN, KISS 98.5, Star 102.5 FM, WKBW 1520 and AM 1400. Broadcasting sources confirmed Tuesday that WGR will carry the Bills in 2012. The announcement may come as soon as Wednesday. WGR, under different ownership, had the Bills' radio rights in the early 1990s, then the games moved to sister station WBEN from 1993-97. Cumulus owns 103.3 The Edge and 97 Rock, both of which carried the Bills' games from 1998 through this past season. Cumulus also owns WHTT 104.1 and WHLD 1270. A call to Entercom Communications' management offices was not returned Tuesday evening. --Greg Connors

Source: Buddy Nix to retire after 2012 NFL Draft

The Buddy Nix era will be coming to a close for the Buffalo Bills. A source close to the Bills has told that Nix is retiring after the 2012 NFL Draft. The announcement was made this past Monday to the staff at One Bills Drive. Nix's replacement will be Doug Whaley, which shouldn't come as a complete shock, as Nix has been grooming him to take over...

Johnson, Gailey see inconsistent enforcement of celebration penalties

Bills coach Chan Gailey benched receiver Stevie Johnson on Sunday after Johnson picked up a celebration penalty for displaying a “Happy New Year” message on his undershirt. But while Gailey and Johnson may not have been happy with each other on the sideline Sunday, they agreed about one thing after the game: They question why…

Nix’s schedule this week

Bills GM Buddy Nix spoke briefly on Monday advising the WNY media that he’ll be commenting on anything and everything in a week. He’s reserving comment now because he has a lot of people he needs to meet with and speak to over the next week. Here’s how his schedule lays out. Monday – speak individually with players Tuesday – meet with the coaches and individually with Chan...

Revisiting my 31 predictions for the Bills 2011 season

I posted these predictions on 9/10/11. What kind of fortune teller am I? Am I Whoopi Goldberg from Ghost or the chick who told Pee Wee Herman his bike was in the Alamo basement? 1) Will Ryan Fitzpatrick pass for over 20 touchdowns? No. I think Fitzpatrick will get in the range of 16-18 touchdowns. Don't get me wrong, I want Fitz to play well because he's a great guy...

Bills agree to terms with Clowney to bolster depth at receiver

The Buffalo Bills are wasting no time addressing their depth at receiver this offseason after free-agent David Clowney agreed to a contract with the team on Wednesday.

Stevie Johnson is a talented player but doesn’t seem to understand there is no “I” in Happy New Year. Buffalo Bills receiver STEVIE JOHNSON just doesn’t get it. Somebody needs to tell this guy that carrying on in the end zone after a score like its your first time there just isn’t funny…and no one’s laughing. Especially when your team is 6-10. That somebody finally...
