Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson is out indefinitely after hurting his left knee in what becomes the latest blow for a porous defense. General manager Buddy Nix told the team's website Wednesday that the injury is not season-ending, but Anderson will miss significant time. Nix said Anderson is visiting specialist James Andrews to determine the severity of the injury. Anderson had difficulty putting any weight on his left leg after being hurt in the second half of a 45-3 loss at San Francisco on Sunday. The Bills attempted to improve their defense by signing Anderson and Mario Williams in March. The plan's been unsuccessful so far. Buffalo (2-3), which plays at Arizona (4-1) on Sunday, has allowed a combined 97 points and 1,201 yards in its past two games.

Mark Anderson the latest Buffalo Bill to suffer injury

Defensive end Mark Anderson could be the latest Buffalo Bill to be added to the team’s injury list. Anderson, who signed a deal with the Bills this offseason, left Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers in the second half and did not return. Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said Anderson suffered a knee injury in the loss. “He went for tests today here (Phoenix)...

Bills GM Nix criticizes defense's lack of urgency

Bills GM Nix rips defense after loss

Buddy Nix places the blame for the Buffalo Bills' defensive meltdowns on an overall lack of urgency and not solely on high-priced defensive end Mario Williams. Otherwise, Nix finds himself as frustrated and ''puzzled...

TEMPE, Ariz. If Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick seems unusually calm in the wake of his teams disastrous performances the past two weeks, well, thats because he is. I thought he was a teenager just shutting me off, but he wasnt at...

Bills searching for answers on offense, too

The Buffalo Bills' horrendous defense over the last two games isn't the only problem. The Ryan Fitzpatrick-led offense has been inconsistent, at best, and now features an injury-depleted line that is expected to be down some starters this weekend. From bad to worse. Indeed, when the Bills (2-3) face Arizona (4-1) on Sunday, they will be short-handed and searching for answers...

Field Goals - Questions to be answered

Things certainly got ugly in a hurry for the Bills. Shortly after dismantling the Browns, some were wondering where the Bills could end up on the other side of their showdowns with New England and San Francisco. Well, they came out 2-3, like many thought in the preseason. But the Bills didn’t end up 2-3 in the manner that most expected. A pair of lopsided losses has all...
