While the Buffalo Bills have ruled running back Fred Jackson
(head) out for tonight’s game against the Miami Dolphins, C.J. Spiller (shoulder)
is probable to play and start for the injured Jackson according to the team’s
injury report. The Bills will also be without cornerback Aaron Williams (knee)
and defensive linemen Mark Anderson (knee) and Chris Kelsay (neck).
Jackson sustained a head injury last Sunday during the team’s
loss to the New England Patriots. Since the Bills are playing on a short week,
there wasn’t much of a chance the veteran running back would be cleared to
play, and coach Chan Gailey ultimately ruled Jackson out Monday.
While Jackson is a starting caliber running back, the Bills
have Spiller ready to step in. The Clemson product has had a huge season thus
far, totaling 632 yards and four touchdowns on 87 carries. This is good for a
whopping 7.3 yards per carry.
