According to the Buffalo News, there have rumors floating around that the Bills will not only fire head coach Chan Gailey, but also part ways with general manager Buddy Nix. Rumors were swirling in NFL circles Saturday that the Buffalo Bills would clean house and fire not only head coach Chan Gailey but General Manager Buddy Nix as well. However, high ranking Bills sources insisted the decision on the team’s top two football men remained, as always, with owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. and that Wilson had yet to tell any of his employees in Western New York of his verdict. Nix, contacted Saturday night, told The News he had not been given any indication of any change in his job status. There is widespread expectation among the organization that Gailey will be ousted due to the Bills’ disappointing season, which concludes today against the New York Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills (5-10) have clinched last place in the AFC East. After giving quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick a contract e...

Report: Bills could clean house

The Bills are 5-10 and set to miss the playoffs for a 13th straight season. As a result, significant changes could be in order for the entire team.

Buffalo Bills pull the plug on Chan Gailey

Whether or not Chan Gailey would be fired has been a touch-and-go subject as of late. General manager Buddy Nix has been telling anybody that would listen that all the team needs is a new quarterback. Obviously the issues run deeper than that as Gailey is gone.  Please Click Here To Read This Article

Buffalo Bills fire coach Chan Gailey

Chan Gailey has been fired by the Buffalo Bills after three losing seasons. The announcement was made Monday, a day after the Bills closed out another disappointing season with a 28-9 win over the New York Jets. Buffalo finished 6-10, and Gailey leaves with a 16-32 record in his three seasons. There was no immediate word on the status of general manager Buddy Nix. In a hopeful...

Bills fire Gailey, GM Nix could be next

The Buffalo Bills fired coach Chan Gailey on Monday, according to the Buffalo News. General manager Buddy Nix might also be let go. Gailey, 60, went 16-32 in three seasons, including 6-10 in 2012. The Bills went 4-14 against NFL East opponents under Gailey. He reportedly has two years left on his contract. The Bills' defense gave up 435 points, 31st in the league,...

NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills Fire Chan Gailey

The Buffalo Bills have fired head coach Chan Gailey, following a disappointing 2012 season. The Bills finished the year with a 6-10 record, and the expectations were much higher in Buffalo following last offseason’s spending spree, highlighted by the signing of Mario Williams. The Bills won their final game of the season at home over the New York Jets on Sunday, but it was not...

BREAKING:Chan Gailey fired as head coach of the Buffalo Bills

After 3 seasons and a combined 16-32 record, the Bills have decided to relieve Chan Gailey of his duties as head coach of the team as reported by the Buffalo News. The firing was expected by fans after the team greatly fell short of expectations this season. Gailey is the first victim of a reported “house cleaning” that may be on the way. According to a tweet from the official...

Chan Gailey fired by Bills

The hits keep on coming: Chan Gailey has been fired by the Buffalo Bills. Gailey, hired by the Bills before the 2010 season, hadn't been a head coach in the league since 1999 with the Cowboys and had a 16-32 record in three seasons with Buffalo. The Bills haven't made the playoffs since 1999, the longest streak in the league. Gailey's hiring was criticized at the time...

Bills' Chopping Block Trio: Gailey, Fitzpatrick, Nix

Though the outcome of Sunday’s matchup against the New York Jets may be uncertain, personnel changes in the offseason are looking more and more absolute for the Buffalo Bills. After a number of additions this past offseason boasted expectations of a strong season to come, those hopes fell flat with inconsistent play and a plague of injuries across the board. As the losses have...

My ode to Chan Gailey

If you were to pick the apex for Chan Gailey's tenure in Buffalo..what would it be? You'd probably pick the Pats win last year, wouldn't you? God, that seems so long ago. A dream...that we thought would springboard us into contention. Alas, it was nothing more than a trick. However, I think of that game being Fitz's best moment, so, I'll save it for when I...

Pros/Cons for keeping Buddy Nix

Pro: Unless new ownership comes in, GMs normally get 4-5 years at minimum to try and turn around a franchise. It always seems like they would get two coaches under their leadership and then if they fail, the GM would be the fall guy. Con: Buddy Nix is in his 70s. He's never been a GM before this job. If it took him almost 30 years or whatever for him to get a crack at being...

Bills GM keeps job, loses authority

One day after firing head coach Chan Gailey, the Buffalo Bills have decided to keep the general manager who hired him.

Lowly Bills rout lowly Jets, Sanchez fails in final opportunity

A dismal season all around for both of these teams, but the Buffalo Bills managed to come out on top and finish the season on a high note, routing the New York Jets 28-9. The Jets, due to a concussed Greg McElroy, gave an opportunity to Mark Sanchez once again only for him to disappoint. He turned the ball over twice, with of course, in what has become his season trademark, threw...

Bills dump Chan Gailey

The Buffalo Bills have made it official and head coach Chan Gailey is officially out . Chan Gailey has been fired. — Tim Graham (@ByTimGraham) December 31, 2012 Future head coaches should take note.  When you give a quarterback like Ryan Fitzpatrick a big contract and entrust your offense to him, you will lose your job.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function(...

Uncertain offseasons begin for Jets, Bills

Their disappointing seasons having finally come to a close, no one was ready to discuss what changes might be in store for the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. ''Let's talk about today, and let's talk about tomorrow or next week at a later date,'' Bills coach Chan Gailey said after a 28-9 season-ending win over the Jets on Sunday. Gailey's on the hot...

True or False: Bills/Jets Edition

As 2012 comes to an end, I look at the Buffalo Bills season as one that was lost. Their schedule was more challenging than expected, but the team still had the potential to win 9-10 games. Unfortunately poor coaching and quarterback play, as well as an inconsistent defense cost the Bills any chance they had of returning to the postseason. I’ve enjoyed this article and I’m sure...
