Thursday night the Buffalo Bills were hoping to improve to 3-2 after playing the Cleveland Browns. There was no reason to think they would not. The Bills have a solid running game, E.J. Manuel is getting better every week, and the defense is not half bad.
Instead they fell to 2-3 and may lose their quarterback for the near future.
About midway through the third quarter with the game tied Manuel tried to keep a drive alive with a scramble on third and long. He got the first--and then some--but when he was knocked out of bonds his knee took the brunt of the hit.
Manuel had to leave the game, and although it appeared for awhile that he might try to get back in the game he stayed out.
After the game the team announced that Manuel had a sprained knee, but did not mention how bad or how long the team thinks he may be out (or if he will miss any time).
If he does it would not be surprising to see the Bills get in touch with recently made unemployed...
