The Buffalo Bills added a special teams player and gave themselves a little more leeway at wide receiver Tuesday by signing Ruvell Martin back to the 53-man roster.
The move coincided with the team placing rookie cornerback Ron Brooks on the injured reserve list.
Martin, 30, played 14 games for the Bills last season and was used mostly on special teams. Brooks would have been a prime candidate for the gunner (wide) position on punt coverage but Martin can also do that job. He tied for second on the Bills last season in special teams tackles.

The Buffalo Bills open the season on Sunday against Gang Green. Like last year, when the team had a stellar 5-2 start to the season, Buffalo needs to get off to a fast start in 2012. This is a team on the rise with exponential potential.
How well quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick performs could very well mean the difference between the Bills ending currently the longest playoff drought...
Buffalo Bills: Steve Johnson "Limited" In Practice Wednesday
Last season, Steve Johnson became the first players in Bills’ history to post back-to-back 1,000 yard receiving seasons and he did it largely hobbled with a nagging groin injury. He may have to do it again.Though it was listed as a “rest day” for Johnson during Wednesday’s practice, a fall out of bounds during individual work early in the day soon changed the receiver’s...

Stevie Johnson has been held out of practice because of a groin injury, leaving the Buffalo Bills' top receiver's status uncertain for their season-opening game at the New York Jets this weekend.

Bills vs Jets week 1: Keys to the game
If you didn’t already know, I’m a die hard Bills fan. I have trouble grasping the concept that this could be a close game, or it could be a complete whipping from either side. I think this season opener is more important to these two teams than any that they’ve had in recent memory. With that being said, here are the keys to the game for Buffalo and what they need to win. ...
Raiders Reportedly Sign Free Agent WR Derek Hagan
Former Raiders wide receiver Derek Hagan sent out a Tweet that said he has re-signed with the Raiders. If so, the Raiders arent saying.
The Raiders wouldnt confirm nor deny Hagans breaking news. Hagan spent the past year or so with the Buffalo Bills after he was released by the Raiders.
The signing would make sense, naturally, given three of the five receivers on the Raiders...
'Super' Mario eager to make Bills debut vs. Jets
Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow, play-action pass, run or wildcat formation: Mario Williams isn't worried about what the New York Jets might have in store for the Buffalo Bills defense this weekend.
Whatever it might be, the defensive end can't see how it'll blunt the Bills' new-look and high-priced pass rush.
''No,'' Williams said, repeating the word...
Bills 2012
The new NFL season is almost here, and the Buffalo Bills finally have a reason to hope.
Actually, several reasons to hope.
This years Bills have a few big name acquisitions, and a few key re-signs that are huge reasons to "Bill-eve" this year. The signing of prized free agent almost goes without saying as the biggest move the Bills have made in free agency in the...

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets Week 1 NFL Pick
Buffalo Bills (0-0) at New York Jets (0-0)

I identified Buffalo as one of my underrated teams coming into the season. They were 5-2 last year before injuries struck and averaging 30.1 points per game. Then Fitzpatrick, who was 155 of 229 (67.7%) for 1739 yards (7.6 YPA), 14 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions through 7 games, broke some ribs which hampered his...

Week one means it is time for the first pick of the week. The season opener did not exactly go how many people planned, so lets hope that everyone out there with some action on the game will be able to make it back up on Sunday.
Full slate of games to start the day, but we will take a look at the Bills heading to face the Jets for an early season AFC East clash that could...
