The Buffalo Bills have delivered on their promise to reward running back Fred Jackson by signing him to a contract extension.
The deal was announced Monday at a news conference attended by Jackson and team officials.
Jackson, who has led the Bills in rushing in three straight seasons, was scheduled to make a base salary of $1.955 million in entering the final year of his contract. He had expressed his dissatisfaction on several occasions last year of feeling underpaid.
General manager Buddy Nix has maintained he expected to reach a new deal with Jackson before the start of training camp.
Jackson was the Bills' first-half MVP last year before his season ended after breaking a bone in his right leg in a 35-8 loss at Miami on Nov. 20.

Maybe it had to do with the $4 million freed up by cutting Drayton Florence, or maybe it was just more of the Bills securing players that made them so good to start 2011, but Fred Jackson is now signed to anchor the Buffalo backfield through 2014.
There were big expectations from fans for Buffalo to pay the once undrafted Coe College alum whatever it took to keep him in red...
The Buffalo Bills showed respect to their 31 year old breakout from the 2011 season as they sign Fred Jackson to a 2 year $9 million dollar extension. Why did I preface that with his age, you ask? Cuz he’s a running back and he’s 31. You need a better reason? There’s talk that because his body didn’t take the wear and tear up to this point like other RBs did, he still...
Growing up I was always told that getting an education and going to college will help you get any job that you desire. I was told that you could be whatever you wanted but little did I know that reality shows and Youtube would be created. You can now skip the education part by making

Me: Who the hell was that?
Some Drunk: That's Fred Jackson.
Me: Kirby Jackson?
Some Drunk: No, Fred Jackson from Coe College.
Me: Where the hell is Coe College?
Some Drunk: I don't know, but he just zipped past London Fletch for a 40-yard catch and run.
That was my first introduction to Fred Jackson. He took a pass over the middle...
I wrote last season, after their 5-2 start, that it was finally time to take the Buffalo Bills seriously. They rewarded that little piece of writing by losing eight of their next nine ballgames to finish up 6-10 and miss the playoffs for the twelfth straight season. A streak that is currently the longest drought in the NFL.
So was I wrong about them early last year? Maybe, maybe...
While another AFC East team tries to find a role on their team for the 95th best player in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills have offered a tryout to Division III star QB and YouTube sensation Alex Tanney. The former Monmouth College QB threw for 157 career touchdowns while leading the Fighting Scots. But his [...]
And after Former Bills CB @DraytonFlorence visits the Titans on Wednesday, he is scheduled to visit the Broncos in Denver.

Drayton Florence is a solid cornerback who started 45 games in the past three seasons for the Buffalo Bills. In production and age, he’s similar to recently released Andre Goodman… if the Broncos can get him...
As of now, the Buffalo Bills currently have 10 linebackers on their roster. However, that number is sure to shrink throughout training camp as players fight for playing time. While Kelvin Sheppard and Nick Barnett are locks at middle linebacker and weakside linebacker, with Kirk Morrison expected to start at strong side, there still could be some serious competition at the position...
The name might not sound familiar to you. Division III Quarterbacks are rarely a household name. Alex Tanney, though, may be the most well known division III QB to hit the market in quite some time. After the Bills tried out former Eagle Vince Young earlier in the week, now they have invited the most accurate (and possibly the best) passer in D3 history to their rookie mini-camp...
When the news broke that the Bills were going to have a press conference on Monday at 2pm, the majority of Twitter assumed that it would be for the announcement for Fred Jackson's contract extension....and they were right. There was also some chatter that it could be the announcement for Ralph Wilson Stadium improvements, which got me thinking...
What stadium improvements would...
