Stevie Johnson has been held out of practice because of a groin injury, leaving the Buffalo Bills' top receiver's status uncertain for their season-opening game at the New York Jets this weekend.
Coach Chan Gailey says Johnson could've practiced Thursday, but was held out as a precaution a day after complaining of tightness in his groin. Gailey says he thinks Johnson will return to practice Friday, but added there's a level of concern about the receiver's ability to play Sunday.
After riding a stationary bike before practice began, Johnson stood by and watched as receivers took part in individual drills.
Johnson experienced tightness in his groin through training camp after having surgery in May to repair an injury that nagged him for much of last season.

Bills look to start the season off right
Excited. Nervous. Overwhelmed. Anxious. Depressed. All words that come to mind when I think about the Bills facing the Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Why?
Excited: Because it’s Week 1 of the best season of the year! Football, duh.
Nervous: Ditto.
Overwhelmed: Ditto, plus I’m easily overwhelmed and it’s really hard having so many conflicting emotions all at once.
Anxious...

Bills Re-Sign WR Ruvell Martin
The Buffalo Bills added a special teams player and gave themselves a little more leeway at wide receiver Tuesday by signing Ruvell Martin back to the 53-man roster.
The move coincided with the team placing rookie cornerback Ron Brooks on the injured reserve list.
Martin, 30, played 14 games for the Bills last season and was used mostly on special teams. Brooks would have been...
Week 1 Fantasy Football Preview: Bills vs. Jets
Buffalo Bills: The Bills come in with an offense that finished middle of the road last season. Averaging just over 23 points a game, the Bills should improve drastically on that number. The first half of last season the Bills offense was a very useful unit in terms of fantasy and could be useful once again this season. The New York Jets defense took a step back last season, while...

Raiders Reportedly Sign Free Agent WR Derek Hagan
Former Raiders wide receiver Derek Hagan sent out a Tweet that said he has re-signed with the Raiders. If so, the Raiders arent saying.
The Raiders wouldnt confirm nor deny Hagans breaking news. Hagan spent the past year or so with the Buffalo Bills after he was released by the Raiders.

Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow, play-action pass, run or wildcat formation: Mario Williams isn't worried about what the New York Jets might have in store for the Buffalo Bills defense this weekend.
