JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Rookie wide receiver Justin Blackmon is finally making the plays the Jacksonville Jaguars had in mind when they drafted him as the fifth overall pick last spring. Blackmon caught passes worth 236 yards last week in an overtime loss to Houston, the third-best rookie performance in NFL history. He followed that up Sunday with the decisive touchdown in a 24-19 victory over the Tennessee Titans at EverBank Field. Jacksonville snapped a five-game losing streak at home and a seven-game losing streak overall. Blackmon bowled over Micheal Griffin and Alterraun Vener at the goal line to score on a 7-yard reception with 6:50 remaining to give the Jaguars (2-9) a 21-12 lead. After the Titans cut it to 21-19, the Jaguars got the ball back with 3:28 left. Safety Dwight Lowery pulled in a tipped interception to set up a Josh Scobee field goal to give the Jaguars their first home victory since last season. "It was a little hook route," Blackmon said of the...

Jaguars eager to build on 1st win in 2 months

Until Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars hadn't held a second-half lead at home all season. No wonder it nearly caused problems. Luckily for the Jaguars, rookie...

Which Chad Henne will the Jaguars get?

Chad Henne was named the starter in Jacksonville this week, after Blaine Gabbert injured his shoulder again as well as a contusion on his throwing elbow. Henne was going to start no matter the prognosis of Gabbert’s health, but since Gabbert went on IR, there was no other option. Henne had a great performance after he came in, throwing for 354 yards and four touchdowns. By...

Henne impresses in first Jaguars start

No one wants to admit when he's wrong, but that's something many Jaguars fans are coping with following Jacksonville's home victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars looked solid on offense. Even though they only mounted four scoring drives, three of those drives resulted in touchdowns, not field goals, and the Jaguars offense continued to show the quick-strike...

Chad Henne Is Not The Answer In Jacksonville

Just two weeks ago the Jaguars were on pace to receive a consolation prize for the 2012 season, that being a no. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. That pick would bring with it a hefty decision – whether the team should pursue a quarter back to replace Blaine Gabbert. Not to jump ahead of ourselves; I acknowledge that Jacksonville is not a Super Bowl team after splitting a pair of divisional...

Week 11 – Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars

If there’s one thing I enjoy in football, it’s divisional match ups. It has the ability to throw everything you know about stats, logic, and talent out the window and focus soley on playing the game. Take for instance the match up between the (4-6) Titans and the (1-8) Jaguars. Last week, the Jaguars gave the AFC leading Houston Texans all they could handle and then some in an...
