It’s funny: I am not angry over the 30-17 loss the Eagles suffered to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Well, I am upset that the Falcons scored on their first six possessions and held a 24-7 halftime lead. The Eagles made third-down stops, only to be overturned by penalty.
The Eagles could not stop the rain and wind, nor could they stop Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan and the rest of the Falcons defense.
This was supposed to be a better defense under Todd Bowles. He was overmatched.
This was supposed to be a battle against the Eagles’ receivers and former cornerback Assante Samuel.
DeSean Jackson turned a 10 yard gain into a 20 yard game burning Samuel and LeSean McCoy outran Samuel for an Eagles’ touchdown.
Otherwise Samuel vs. the Eagles was a non-factor.
This was the Matt Ryan show. He completed 22 to 29 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns.
Oh, the Eagles got two sacks, their first since Week 3.
