At the 2012 NFL Draft, Wagner was selected in round 2, pick 47 by the Seattle Seahawks. He is the highest selected player from Utah State since Rulon Jones in 1980.  Seattle was hoping that the speedy linebacker would be able to come in right away and make a difference.  Well Wagner has not fell short of that dream. He has been lights out since day one in Seattle.  Right now, Wagner is second on the team for tackles with 43 and is the only rookie with 40 plus tackles.  Wagner has become a vocal leader in Seattle and is everything the #1 defense could ask for in a Mike linebacker. Wagner has been a stud since Utah State where he was a four year starter. Wagner recorded 445 tackles, 4.5 sacks and four interceptions during his career. As a senior in 2011, Wagner was the WAC Defensive Player of the Year after recording 147 tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions, and if he keeps it up he could be defensive rookie of the year.

Tom Brady on Richard Sherman taunts: “My dad taught me at a young age to play with class and respect”

We believe the saying is “act like you’ve been there.” Richard Sherman had a lot to say after the Seahawks 24-23 win over the New England Patriots, and we have this to say: enjoy your Super Bowl party in October! Here in New England, success is measured in January. We understand how an excitable young player who watched Brady in the eighth grade would talk some trash after...

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers: Three Bold Predictions

Before the season began this looked like it may be a Thursday night match-up that would go fairly unnoticed. Now, almost to the half-way point of the season, this contest between both 4-2 squads looks like it will have major implications.  Implications that go beyond who wins the division and who goes to the playoffs.  Rather, a match-up that may determine who the next dominant...

Seattle Seahawks vs San Fransisco 49ers Fight for the Top Preview

For the past decade the NFC West has been regarded as the worst division in football.  The Rams haven't been any good since Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk left.  The 49ers have been concussed since Steve Young retired.  Seattle had a brief shining moment making it to the Super Bowl with Matt Hasselbeck and Shawn Alexander in 2005 but haven't been relevant since.  The...

Watch Steve Smith pause to consider murdering E:60 reporter (Video)

(via espn.com)Panthers WR Steve Smith has a reputation for having a bit of a temper. His fierce competitive nature has made him one of the best receivers in the NFL, but it’s also led to a history of fights — including several with his own teammates, with Smith sending members of his own team to the hospital on three separate occasions. So ESPN’s E:60 decided to do a profile...

Seahawks-49ers Live Blog, First Half

One of the best match-ups of the week on Thursday night. How nice to put that at a time when players only have three days rest. I’ve said elsewhere that it was the rampant Peter King fluffing that turned me against Russell Wilson. I know that’s not really a fair thing to hold against someone. Wilson is just being himself. If he happens to charm some reporters who skew their coverage...

Willis on hand to stop Lynch this time around

Patrick Willis had no chance last December to do his part in stopping Marshawn Lynch and helping keep San Francisco's impressive streak alive: 36 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers NFL Week 7 Preview

DEAN RUTZ / THE SEATTLE TIMES Follow @Dan Vasta and like Gridiron Grit on Facebook  This has a knack for being a defensive slugfest that everybody should enjoy! Both defenses are fearless and talk a bunch of game, although they back it up with the best of them. Seattle and San Francisco are second and third respectively, but they are fourth and first in points allowed per game...

Thursday Night Fantasy Football Pick-Up and Start, Week 7

The Thursday Night games have been pretty boring this year, with few reasons to watch other than fantasy and gambling implications. This week might be the exception, as the Seahawks travel to face the 49ers.  Every week I'm profiling one sparsely-owned player from Thursday's game that you can (notice I'm not saying should) pick up and start. Ya know, get your...

Tom Brady responds to Seahawks Richard Sherman

The line went viral following Seattles stunning comeback against New England on Sunday. “U Mad Bro?”Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman had words for Tom Brady following the game. Brady was asked about the incident and responded according to NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal.“(Sherman’s) a very good player, and I have a lot of respect for that defense and certainly that secondary...

NFL Week 7 Picks

LAST WEEK: 6-8 SEASON: 55-36 (60%)  Def. The Seahawks are coming off a huge win against the Pats and the 49ers are coming off a really rough loss to the Giants, but San Francisco's defense is just too good to lose to Russell Wilson no matter how good the Seattle defense plays. Def. Both of these teams were big underdogs in their...
