With newborn twins waiting at home and plenty of work to do on the field, NaVorro Bowman is feeling a great sense of responsibility this summer with the San Francisco 49ers. That comes with the territory after Bowman's emergence last year as one of the NFL's best linebackers in just his second season. Bowman went from a reserve role as a rookie to becoming a first-team All-Pro after the 49ers (No. 4 in the AP Pro32) moved him into the starting lineup last year. He quickly asserted himself as a force in the middle while helping San Francisco assert itself as one of the NFL's best defenses. Now he's eager to build on what he and the 49ers accomplished last year while continuing to grow as an individual.

San Francisco 49ers 2012 Season Preview

I was trying to figure out a way to attack the San Francisco 49ers 2012 Season Preview when I realized this is going to be difficult. A lot of the things that went right last year are simply a result of excellent coaching, smart players and luck.  Two of the three of those things won’t, at least they shouldn’t, change but will the 49ers get the bounces they did during the regular...

Jim Harbaugh Retracts On Randy Moss Being Best 49ers Receiver

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh recently retracted from a statement he made to former Oakland Raiders signal-caller Rich Gannon regarding Randy Moss being the best wide receiver on the team, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. Harbaugh cleared up the confusion, clarifying that a No. 1 receiver has not been named and the original statement was made in reference...

Peter King: “Randy Moss absolutely has something left”

Getty Images Peter King of SI.com told Rich Eisen of the NFL Network via NFL.com, that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss that there’s no doubt Randy Moss has plenty of talent left. “When I saw Randy Moss come off the line of scrimmage and fake Perrish Cox so severely that Cox slipped and Randy Moss ran across the middle and caught a beautiful crossing throw,” King...

Vernon Davis And Randy Moss At 49ers Camp

Moss needs you arm workout Juan…   Randy Moss has been routinely beating 49er DBs in practice and is has shown a maturity he lacked before his turned in his cleats back in 2010.  Vernon Davis really caught on to the offense late in 2011 and proved it with a monster playoff run.  Will Alex Smith be let loose?  Fantasy Football Rankings: Top 200 Don’t Sleep On: Brent Celek

Donte Whitner scoffs at Saints players for using bounty system

Getty Images San Francisco 49ers safety Donte Whitner scoffed at the New Orleans Saints players for having to use a bounty system in order to motivate themselves to play hard.  He believes a team shouldn’t need bounties to motivate themselves. “If you have the right type of guys in that (defensive) room, you don’t have to set bounties or pay money for guys to play physical...

Moss, Manning looking for revivals

Observations from around the league as training camps gear up ... What do you think of Randy Moss? He is not going to end up on any of my teams, and I'll likely be the person least interested in him at every draft. I have a few problems with taking Moss, who did not play a single NFL snap last season. First, he'll be 35.5 years old once the season starts, which means he...

Scott Shanle tells Donte Whitner to shut his mouth

Good old twitter. It seems that Saints linebacker Scott Shanle (Don’t worry I had to google his name as well) had a few choice words for 49ers safety Donte Whitner. It seems that Shanle read an article where Whitner said that ‘good defenses don’t need bounties.’ It looks like Shanle didn’t take to kindly to that. I’m guessing Shanle still can’t get over the fact that...

Despite not signing a contract in Miami, some were reporting that the Dolphins were still interested in Edwards. However, he never signed and headed...

The NFL’s Top Budgetary Crisis Burns!

The Saints and the 49ers had a highly memorable playoff game in January. It was from that game that Gregg Williams’ comments about affecting Frank Gore’s head scandalized the football world. That hasn’t been lost on San Francisco defenders. On Monday, Niners safety Donte Whitner issued a shots fired quote at the Saints, saying, “If you have the right type of guys in that...

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 4): Defense will be hard-hitting and solid again, while offense should have...
