Football is hard. It's a lot of exercising and being sore and getting tackled. So, why would a former all-Pro wide receiver Brandon Lloyd ever go back when he has a burgeoning acting career? Lloyd last played for the New England Patriots, and though he was released in March 2013 and is only 32, he has yet to sign with another NFL team. He, instead, has taken a role in a zombie movie called "After Effect." Here's the film's synopsis, via IMDB: "When college students sign up for what seems a simple paid research study, they soon realize their lives are in danger. Unfortunately they've unknowingly volunteered their bodies as human collateral in an ongoing U.S. Military experiment." First time writer/director David McElroy - best known for being an uncredited production assistant on HellBoy, The Punisher or Resident Evil: Apocalypse - penned this obvious zombie Oscar-bait, which stars the likes of Kirk Anderson, Michael Chinn and the 14th Baldwin brother, Billy Baldwin. Lloyd plays Sgt. Chuck Lloyd, who presumably gets to shoot tons of zombies. This could be a start of a whole new career for Lloyd, who can follow in the footsteps of other former athletes who turned to acting: like Terry Bradshaw, or Alex Karras. "After Effect" hits Walmart and on-demand on Oct. 8. You didn't think it would be in theaters, did you? H/T CBS Sports
