Braylon Edwards has always been a talented receiver and as such he’s proven himself to be an enigma so far in the NFL.

He’s made huge plays and saw his career jump off to a great start yet after leaving Cleveland he sputtered out in both New York with the Jets and in San Francisco.

Now, it looks like he’s ready to go for his and he appears to be on the verge of his long-awaited step into the statistical big time.

Why Russell Wilson will unseat Matt Flynn in Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll have done everything but be predictable and the quarterback battle is no different. In 2010, the Seahawks not only made the playoffs at 7-9, but stunned the defending champion New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. Then they drafted Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter in the first round [...]

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson thinks he’s getting closer to starter's job

Fomer Wisconsin Badger Russell Wilson is on his own personal quest to win the Seattle Seahawks quarterback battle. The rookie quarterback is competing against prized free agent pick up Matt Flynn from Green Bay, and last year’s starter Tarvaris Jackson. In an interview with WJRK in Seattle via Profootballtalk.com, Wilson talks about his progress so far.

Russell Wilson still a long shot to win starting job

The Seattle Seahawks have a heated quarterback battle on their hands. But, despite many reports to the contrary, Russell Wilson doesn’t appear to be a part of it. According to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times, Matt Flynn and Tarvaris Jackson continue to share the majority of the first-team reps in practice. Meanwhile, Wilson continues to work with the second team, and isn...

Russell Wilson believes he’s closer to becoming the Seahawks starting quarterback

AP Photo Seattle Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson told Ian Furness from KJR in Seattle via SportsRadioInterviesws.com that he believes he’s moved closer to becoming the starting quarterback. “I definitely believe I’ve moved closer,” Wilson said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “You take one step at a time, one day at a time, one rep at a time and you just improve...

Seattle Seahawks May Keep Braylon Edwards Or Terrell Owens, But Likely Not Both

The Seattle Seahawks decided this past offseason that they had a wide receiving corps that was not exactly up to the standards of the rest of the National Football League. Not even if the watered down NFC West. Seattle went forward and cut Mike Williams, who had been one of their better receivers a couple of seasons ago. That left them with Ben Obomanu and Deon Butler atop the team’s...

Pete Carroll Willing to Take Chance on Braylon Edwards, Terrell Owens But Not Chad Johnson

Pete Carroll is known for giving maligned players a chance to earn their keep. But even after signing troubled superstars Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens this offseason, the Seahawks head coach seems opposed to any such union with recently released wideout Chad Johnson. Johnson, a six-time Pro Bowler, has been released twice in the past three months, most recently after being arrested...

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Competition Revisited

Am I the only one who thinks that the way that the Seahawks are handling their quarterback competition is a little bit weird? I understand their logic with regards to not playing Tavaris in the exhibitions; I don’t agree with it but I understand it. I get that the Seahawks believe they know everything they need to know about Tavaris but isn’t there a chance that he’ll be a...

Chad Johnson can cross Seahawks off his list

The Seattle Seahawks signed Antonio Bryant, Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens in an effort to find a big, veteran receiver to replace the released Mike Williams. But don't expect head coach Pete Carroll to pick up the phone and see if Chad Johnson wants to come to the Pacific Northwest. Johnson was released by the Dolphins the day after being arrested following an argument...

Seattle Seahawks: 4 Things to Watch For vs. Denver

Matt Flynn vs. Russell Wilson, Round 2   For all intents and purposes, it sure does look like Tarvaris Jackson is out of what has become a two-man race for the Seahawks' starting quarterback gig, as once again he won’t suit up for the matchup against the Broncos. Pete Carroll has said Jackson essentially represents the control element in this experiment… or in other words...

5 Super Sleepers for the NFL Season

While Matt Flynn sits in front of him, the wait for Russell Wilson may not be long` 1.) Russell Wilson Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks “He is too short to be an NFL Quarterback”, “He can’t see over his Offensive Line” these are just some of the things Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson heard from NFL scouts heading into the 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson has all the...

Seahawks Come Up Victorious In Preseason Opener

Northwest Sports Update I totally forgot to post this. I wrote it on Monday AM, it got lost in my notes. A 5 dimes review of Seattle’s preseason opener against Tennessee should be positive about the Seahawks’ performance, but not too positive as there is a long way to go in Seattle, especially at quarterback. Matt Flynn was 11-of-13 for 71 yards and a pick in a 27-17 win...
