This morning, ESPN?s Matt Mosley reported that Dan Reeves had begun working for the Dallas Cowboys in an as yet unspecified consulting role. This evening we learned that Reeves has already quit. This means one of two things. Either, A: Reeves works very fast and was able to resolve the ...

  • I am not a Dan Reeves fan, But Why did he ever consider working for that Jerk JJ in the first place?

  • Just another day at the Jones Farm. Pac, Jerry, Felix and all the Boys. A truly dysfunctional team going absolutely nowhere. I would be embarrased if I were Jones. Reaves is one of the Class acts of the NFL. He saw the inside of D-Block and ran!!!....for his life.
  • wow Dan actually has some sense, who the hell would want to work for JJ and the cryboys
  • Well, let's see..........Dave Campo, Chan Gailey, Bill Parcells, Jimmy Johnson, Wade Phillips, Barry Switzer. And the list will get longer. Dan Reeves was pressured by Jerry into taking a title as coach instead of consultant. Maybe he was being offered the head coaching position and didn't want to step on Wade's toes since they are good friends. Who knows?
  • does any body blame him i wouldnt want to be in big D right now either JJ is Al Davis Jr.
  • This Cowboys story about the hiring of Dan Reeves just gets stranger as we go.

Reeves works at Valley Ranch 3 days then quits. He says it was because of one clause in the contract he couldn't accept, but won't say what it was.

Reeves won't even say what his title was gonna be. He does say it wasn't general manager though because Jerry Jones isn't ever gonna give that title up.

But Jones realizes he needs some help to get his team better, convinces Dan Reeves Sunday he's the guy who can help, Reeves takes the job and quits 3 days later.

Reeves says if Jones would change that one clause in the contract, he'd come back in a minute. Don't hold your breath.

Reeves is a man with a point of view, has an opinion and isn't afraid to say so.

Those guys don't work for Jerry Jones, not long anywa
  • The report I heard was "a philosopical disagreement -" Realbrown
  • reading the comments, nobody is giving the cowboys any love.tge problem here is not jj but the players he has gotton in the past years.if he would just be an owner and let the general manager do his job and stay out of it and ger rid of some of the dead wood ,i think they would be able to keep the coachs they hire, and more fans would like them besides only cowboy fans.this comming from a ny.giants fan.
