The reason the Cowboys were called America’s Team, was because in the 70s and 80s they were rockstars. Many young kids wanted to play with the star on their helmet.
Even Brett Favre.
“I grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan,” Favre said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “I loved Roger Staubach. That was back when teams kept the same players on the roster for a long time. Drew Pearson, Randy White, Charlie Waters, Danny White, Robert Newhouse, Tony Dorsett, Billy Joe DuPree, I could go just on and on. I always dreamed of playing for the Cowboys, playing in the Super Bowl.”
Packers fans glad his dream didn’t come true.

Whether you grew to hate Brett Favre or not down the final stretch of his career, you have to admit his consecutive games played streak was impressive. Favre played in 16 regular season games through the first 19 years of his career before an injury kept him out of the Minnesota Vikings’ last few in 2010.
You know it had to be something serious for Favre to allow his streak to...
Before capping the 1996 season by leading the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl victory, Brett Favre was 4-3 in playoff games. Not bad for a 26-year-old who at the time probably didn't know he'd play another 15 NFL seasons.
The four wins came against the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers and twice against the division rival Detroit Lions. The losses? Well, they all came...

Anyone who has been following the NFL for the last month has undoubtedly seen the potential resurfacing of Vince Young and his attempt to once again become an NFL quarterback.
To be totally honest I don't see why he hasn't garnered more interest. When you look at his winning percentage and the quality starts he had it can leave you scratching your head.
The Cowboys are the only team in the NFL with a part time general manager. How has that worked out for them this millennium? The Cowboys just inked Tony Romo to a monster contract. Now they have to give him players to win.
At this point most teams have made their big moves in free agency. The players remaining are either veterans at the end of their career or role...
Former NFL QB Brett Favre thinks it's unfair to put too much blame on Cowboys QB Tony Romo for the team's lack of playoff wins during Romo's tenure in Dallas.
Many questioned the reasoning behind owner Jerry Jones giving so much money to Romo, who so far has only one playoff win. Former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb was so flabbergasted upon hearing the news that he nearly...
Tony Romo will be the whipping boy of the Dallas Cowboys until they win a Super Bowl or any game of consequence. The team does have talent but for some reason it hasn't came together for them.
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre believes that Romo shouldn't be judged on his one playoff win and that if the Cowboys play better Romo wouldn't have to be reckless.
The gift and the curse of being a professional quarterback, is if you get a RING, you immediately have ring protection and it clouds people judgment of you. If you don’t the critics will always been ready to pounce.
For example, Brett Favre went to two Super Bowls and won one, but he had many terrible playoff appearances late in his career, that are mostly swept under the rug...
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre said his approach changed throughout his career depending on the amount of talent he had around him. If the 11-time Pro Bowl selection knew he was surrounded with a talented group, he took less chances and wasn't as much of a gunslinger on the field.
When it comes to judging Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Favre sees it the same way....
Sandwiched between Super Bowl appearances in 1975 and 1977 was the 1976 season, which was much better than people may remember. The Cowboys began the year at 9-1 before finishing at 11-3. However, a 14-12 loss to the Rams in the playoffs ended the season.
(If you want to suffer through that game, it is available on YouTube).
Many of the stars from the Super Bowl teams were the main...
