Brett Keisel wins the 2012 training camp entrance of the year award. Name another guy who drove a tractor like 20 miles to Latrobe, PA for Steelers training camp. You can’t. AND…Keisel had his luggage in the loader. AND…the guy showed up with that grizzly beard. AND…it’s like 120 degrees in PA with the humidity.
AND..you show us a rookie who has the guts to not sing his fight song when Keisel says sing. You can’t.
Via the Washington Post:
“I’m a tractor guy,” the defensive lineman said after pulling into the Pittsburgh Steelers’ camp in Latrobe, Pa., in a Kubota front-loader and dismounting. “I grew up in Wyoming driving one of these bad boys. This reminds me of my childhood days, swathing hay, plowing fields and planting fields.”

Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace will not be reporting today to Latrobe for the start of training camp, but optimism is growing that he will be arriving in the next several days.
Both Emmanuel Sanders and Keenan Lewis told the media today in interviews upon their arrival that they expect Wallace to arrive over the course of the next week. Lewis...
TALK IT OUT
The Steelers reportedly are suspending contract negotiations with wide receiver Mike Wallace who is looking for a long-term deal.
Not much to report just yet on the day that the Pittsburgh Steelers report to Latrobe for training camp. The real news will not start filtering in until later on in the day, closer to the 4:00 p.m. reporting deadline.
The only real thing to report thus far is that Omar Khan, the Steelers Business and Football Administration Coordinator, now has a promotion and a title change,...
The Steelers signed wide receiver Antonio Brown to a five-year extension that will keep him in Pittsburgh through 2017.
Brown, voted Pittsburgh's most valuable player by teammates last season, was entering the final season of the three-year contract he signed when he was drafted out of Central Michigan in 2010. He would have been eligible for restricted free agency after this...
If you have been reading this site for a while now, and listening to the podcast, you have heard me mention the veteran cap credits the Pittsburgh Steelers once again have that their discretion to use towards the salary cap this season.
In short, these cap credits are in the new CBA to help teams gradually step up to the increase in the salary cap that is expected to take place...
Will Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger take too many sacks in 2012? In short, the answer is yes. Will it be less than in the past? Almost certainly the number of sacks should go down. Why will the sacks go down? Generally speaking, Todd Haley was brought in to specifically change to an offense that [...]
The trend to be thin is in. That is of course if you are an inside linebacker. Maybe thin is a bad adjective to use, but lighter certainly isn't. The further we get away from 2012 NFL, the more the selection of Miami linebacker Sean Spence by the Pittsburgh Steelers makes sense.
Linebackers coach Keith Butler laid down the reasoning behind the selection of Spence, who weighed...
The afternoon practice today started at 2:55pm and will run until about 5pm. With the exception of those players on the PUP list, all are expected to participate in the first full day of training camp. James Harrison, Max Starks, Da-mon Cromartie-Smith, Rashard Mendenhall, Casey Hampton, and Jason Worilds are on the list and cannot practice with the team until they are removed from...
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace decided on his own to hold out.
Wallace’s agent Bus Cook had nothing to do with his decision to hold out from reporting to training camp.
“According to sources, Wallace is driving the bus on this one. It is the wide receiver’s idea to hold out of training camp and, because...
This is the second of many special training camp editions of the The Terrible Podcast with co-host David Todd tied up with radio work this evening, I am joined by Derek Nesselrodt, who attended his first ever Pittsburgh Steelers training camp practice today. Derek is a very knowledgeable fan of the Steelers and you can follow him on Twitter at @calmkiller.

Despite a premature congratulations by a teammate yesterday, it looks like Mike Wallace and the Pittsburgh Steelers did not actually come to an agreement on an extension. Today, ESPN’s John Clayton is reporting that not only have talks between the two sides broken...
If there’s one thing that I just can’t stand, it’s drama surrounding the Steelers. The whole Ben Roethlisberger saga is long gone now and rather than concentrating on just what’s going on in camp, Mike Wallace continues to drive the fans of Pittsburgh to talk about him. While I’m sure that’s not solely his intent by any means, it’s an affect nonetheless. If you’ve...
