Receiver Brian Hartline and the Miami Dolphins both think they can get a deal done, keeping the up and coming receiver as a favorite for Ryan Tannehill.
Hartline emerged in 2012 catching 74 receptions for 1,083 yards and 1 touchdown, becoming a top target for the rookie quarterback.
However, with the franchise tag being applied to defensive lineman Randy Starks, Hartline will be free to mingle and draw offers from other suitors.
According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the two parties will still try to make it happen.
‘On Hartline, the sides continue to talk. Agent Drew Rosenhaus is nothing if not persistent. Hartline wants to remain in Miami and believes he has chemistry with quarterback Ryan Tannehill. But he also wants $6 million per season.
Obviously, the Dolphins have so far resisted this price point. Both sides at this point believe something can get done before the start of free agency.
