Bwest is the ultimate football player. Not only is he a complete ''football player'' he also is humble and proud an unlikely mix in the world of football. He never sounds off his own horn but always trumphets it for his team! now that is what a great player does. His contributions on the field are endless and will someday become tales told to little eagle children as bedtime stories.I cannot think of another player as worthy as he.Some may have better numbers but none have the class and versatility that our Bwest has..BRIAN WESTBROOK FOR M.V.P.

  • I agree that Westbrook should be MVP of the league. If he isn't, he is the MVP for the Eagles and Eagles fans!
  • AMEN funkediva!!!!!!!!!
  • rather him than some other players from that new england team
  • Favre as a swan song and great season he had...agree, no Patriots individual should get it, only the team matters
  • If the Eagles had made the playoffs, I could give some merit to that argument. I will agree that he is the MVP of the team this year. But, to be the MVP of the league?.....no way. Would have to go with someone from a team that is in the playoffs.
  • HAHA! Tom Brady is going to set the single-season TD record, Randy Moss is going to set the single-season TD receptions record, and they are undefeated.
  • If Tom Brady, who has the New England Patriots on the brink of the first undefeated NFL season in thirty-five years, and is close to breaking the single-season record for touchdown passes, doesn't get the MVP award, then the award will have no credibility.

I have, on record, said that Brian Westbrook is among the greatest weapons in the game today. That said, you can't give MVP consideration to a guy that toils on a team that fails to make the playoffs, especially when you have a guy like Brady.

You rattle off the greatest quarterbacks of all time: Unitas, Montana, Marino, Elway, Manning (Peyton, not Eli or Archie!), Staubach, Namath, Bradshaw, etc. As great as all those guys were, and for as much success that they've achieved, none of them have led their team to a (potentially!) undefeated season and throw for (potentially!) fifty touchdowns.

There is no debate. I think Brian Westbrook is amazing. Brett Favre has had a great year, as have Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, and many others. But, this season, it has been Tom Brady head and shoulders above everyone else. As a Cowboys fan, it isn't easy to admit it, but it's true.

  • Have to agree with you on that one, 51. Westbrook is a fine player, but he's on a 7-8 team. Brady could go undefeated, makes good decisions in the pocket and gets it done when he has to. How can the league bypass him and give it to someone else?
  • I somewhat agree with linebacker51. The Pat's are having a excelent season with Tom Brady comming close to breaking the record with the most touchdown passes, but on the other hand Brian Westbrook has the most yards from scrimmage in the NFL in a single season. He is very close to breaking retired "Eagles" Wilbert Montgomery's record of 2006 YScm set back in 1979. That has to hold alot of merit.
  • It most certainly does.
  • Can't argue with the single season record, but the thing that is going to keep him from getting it is the team record this season. If they were 14-2 and going into a playoff run, he would be running neck-and-neck with Brady, but got to give it to the winner. Rarely, does a player from a team that doesn't make the playoffs get it. Check out this website and you will see what I am talking about. It's not that you don't have a good argument, but history indicates otherwise.

  • MVP, maybe. But he is a front-runner.
  • He is probably in the top five. We'll find out soon.
  • westbrook thumps the eagles record books!!!mvp
  • If the Eagles had a better record. Can't argue with 16-0 and breaking NFL records, not simply team records.
  • i realize that winning is everything.but my heart says bwest for standing up with class and playing with integrity..
  • BWest is a good man.........great player and a class act. Maybe he wins it next year.
  • too bad it went to brady :( !!!!!!!!
  • It's not that Brady didn't deserve it. He had the numbers and going 16-0 sealed the deal on that one.
