The Denver Broncos front office had drawn some heat before Elvis Dumervil decided to sign with Baltimore. On Monday, the team’s brass is sitting right in the fire. How did they let a premier pass rusher in his prime get away? Did they purposely sabotage the last minute negotiations, changing the parameter tight against the deadline forcing Dumervil’s agent to fax the deal back after the deadline? The bigger question is how do the players on the team feel? Do they still trust management or do they think they could get a raw deal for John Elway also. Defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson was very vocal about the situation and let his feelings fly. “This is unbelievable to me that we lost Elvis in this way,” Vickerson said, via Mike Klis of the Denver Post. “I don’t know what happened but someone dropped the ball. When I talk to Elvis I’m going to congratulate him. But we’re going to miss him.” “Elvis has been a big part of this football team,” Vickerson said. “I know business is business, but this is the part of business that sucks. I congratulate Elvis. At the same time those are big shoes to fill coming off the edge. Elvis was a great Bronco. That’s my guy. He’ll be missed. It’s time for other guys to step up. Robert Ayers, Malik Jackson. It’s time for No. 91 (Ayers) to step up. Robert Ayers is going to have a big year.’’       var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
