Given all the injuries that the Denver Broncos have suffered during the preseason, especially at running back, I speculated that the Denver Broncos were going to have some interest in former Washington Redskin and Pittsburgh Steelers RB Willie Parker. On September 5th, I posed that very question of the Broncos bringing in Parker after he was released from the Washington Redskins. Although I suggested it would be a waste of time for the Broncos to even fly him to Denver, it appears Parker was on the Broncos radar after all.
It is being reported this morning by Adam Schefter via Twitter, that Parker was in the mix in Denver. From Schefter, “Before Broncos traded for RB Laurence Maroney, they flirted with the idea of signing former Steelers RB Willie Parker”.
This should be an indication of just how bad the running back situation is in Denver. Willie Parker shouldn’t even be playing in the UFL. Parker is done and the thought that the Broncos front office even consider...
