Found January 21, 2013 on Pro Sports Daily:
Cleveland Browns kick returner Joshua Cribbs was named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, the NFL announced Monday. Cribbs replaces the Baltimore Ravens' Jacoby Jones. It is Cribbs' third career Pro Bowl selection. He finished fourth in the league in kickoff return average (27.4 yards) and sixth in punt return average (12.0). He also had nine special teams tackles. Cribbs also became just the sixth player in league history to total 12,000 or more career kick and punt return yards. With previously selected Joe Thomas (offensive tackle) and Phil Dawson (kicker), the Browns' three Pro Bowlers are the most the team has had since 2009. The Pro Bowl is Sunday in Honolulu at 7 p.m. ET. The Ravens are preparing to play the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on Feb. 3 in New Orleans.

New Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton won’t force scheme over talent

The great coaches in the NFL don’t force the issue, and they are flexible in finding ways to succeed. New Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton says he won’t force the 3-4 schemes he ran in Arizona if the fit isn’t right. He is excited with the talent he has inherited and wants to maximize their potential. Horton spoke to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer about...

Vice President of Player Personnel Michael Lombardi is already on the defensive: “Can I evaluate a player? Am I allowed to do that?”

He sounded like he had all the answers on the NFL Network, but nothing bad happened when he was wrong. Michael Lombardi, the former analyst turned Vice President of Player Personnel, now gets to feel how real bullets feel again. Lombardi’s last gig was with the Oakland Raiders from 1998 to 2007 as the Senior Personnel Executive working closely with the owner on all football matters...

Joe Thomas named a finalist for NFL’s Man of the Year award

Cleveland’s Pro-Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas has not missed a snap in his six year NFL career. That is an amazing achievement. Browns felt that Chip Kelly was too big of a gamble

Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner didn’t feel comfortable enough to go ahead and offer Chip Kelly the head coaching position. Banner felt Kelly was a risk to change his mind and throw off the Browns search, as he had done to Tampa Bay a year earlier. Combined with the fact Kelly had never coached in the NFL, and his unconventional offense, there were too many question marks. ...

Browns questions abound

Now that the Super Bowl is set and the Browns hires are pretty much all set, there’s nothing left but to wonder about a lot of things. No, not silly already decided things about keeping a certain owner out of the Hall of Fame. That’s been decided a long time ago and as far as I can tell nothing at all (at all) has changed despite death and patches. Other than the obvious though...

Josh Cribbs added to AFC Pro Bowl Roster

Josh Cribbs knew he would be named to the Pro Bowl after the AFC Championship game. He just didn’t know whose place he would be taking. Cribbs was the first alternate for either Baltimore’s Jacoby Jones (kick returner) and New England’s Matthew Slater (special teamer). With the Ravens’ win over the Patriots, Jacoby Jones will not be participating in the Pro Bowl as he prepares...

Art Modell has no Hall of Fame credentials

When we discuss Art Modell’s unworthiness for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame here, the conversation tends to focus mainly on Modell’s lack of excuse for what he did in stealing the Browns away to Baltimore as a disqualifying factor. But today, thanks to a post by @jimkanicki at the world’s hottest new website about Cleveland, Browns and things, it’s as clear...

Cleveland Frowns Super Bowl Party at Map Room sponsored by Jim Beam, and Cheddar Bay Biscuits

This year, we’re bringing some symmetry to the Frowns social calendar with a Super Bowl party at Gillespies’ Map Room on East 9th Street just north of St. Clair. Of course, it probably won’t be as exciting as our annual NFL draft party because there’s only one Super Bowl for Browns fans. But it should still be a lot of fun: A place for you to meet and/or congregate with other...

#ArtOut

This, on Art Modell’s status as a finalist for the next round of NFL Hall of Fame voting to take place Super Bowl weekend, might be the best column that NFL Hall of Fame selector and legendary local Cleveland Browns beat writer Tony Grossi has ever written. Here’s the upshot: Many of Modell’s supporters have since said it’s time for Cleveland to “forgive and forget.”...

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Browns could be interested in acquiring quarterback Ryan Mallett from the Patriots.Fantasy Spin:Cleveland's vice president of player personnel Mike Lombardi is apparently very high on Mallett despite the fact that he's only completed one pass in the NFL.
