Well the Browns were busy at work yesterday, wheeling and dealing.

Thursday afternoon, news broke that the Browns had come to a reported three year deal with backup/wildcat QB Seneca Wallace, for an estimated $9 million.  So if you’re keeping score at home, that boils down to $3 million per year.  With the team switching to the West Coast Offense this season, this news comes with welcoming embrace – Wallace has a familiarity with the offense from his days in Seattle.

The Browns also announced yesterday that they had reached an agreement with free agent LB D’Qwell Jackson on a one year deal.  Jackson who missed all of the 2010 and 10 games in 2009 will have to earn his reported $4.5 million, as the deal relies heavily on incentives.

In addition to the two signings the team also gave 2nd round tenders to TE Evan Moore, and CB Eric Wright.  For those wondering, all this means is that the two will become Restricted Free Agents (RFA) and if a team decides to sing one of them, then they will owe the Browns a 2nd round draft pick.  I find it unlikely that any team will be willing to offer such a steep price to sing one of these two.  Moore has shown flashes during his time, but also has a knack for the injury bug – as an aside I find this upsetting because  I really enjoy watching Moore out there on Sundays.  Wright had a down year, and got beat early and often, now all the blame can’t go to him but the fact remains it was a down year for Wright.
