Cleveland Browns linebacker Chris Gocong has a neck stinger, which could force him to the sidelines. Gocong had a similar injury that forced him to sit out the entire exhibition season. Gocong had a season-high five tackles in Sunday's loss to San Francisco and has 21 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season. If he cannot play Sunday at Houston, he likely will be replaced by Kaluka Maiava.

Hillis a no-show at kids event?

The Cleveland Browns running back is embroiled in another controversy after he allegedly skipped out on a Halloween event for the Boys & Girls Club.

Price of the Browns Rebuild Will Cost You Colt McCoy

I have been critical of Colt McCoy from the beginning. I watch the NFL Red Zone channel and I know what I see. Every other quarterback in the league has a better arm than he does, save perhaps Tim Tebow.Note to self  – Anytime you hear someone describe a quarterback as “a winner,” that is code for, “they stink but had good college teammates.”But Colt doesn’t stink this...

Browns Say Goodbye to Brian Robiskie

Yesterday the Browns cut bait with yet another second-rounder from the 2009 NFL draft.  First it was #52 overall David Veikune after he was beaten out by undrafted player, Marcus Benard.  Now Brian Robiskie.  The 36th overall pick was cut loose after a pretty disappointing career in Cleveland for a guy who was thought to be one of the more “NFL ready” prospects in the draft...

Cleveland Browns Offense Continues to Be a Horror Show

You would be forgiven for thinking that the Cleveland Browns offense has been celebrating Halloween all season, as it remains a truly terrifying display week after week. After Sunday’s 20-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the disturbing trend of ineffective, bland offensive showings by the offense (in keeping with the tradition of previous seasons, which is a nightmare all its...

Browns RB Hillis gives it a go Wednesday

Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis participated in practice Wednesday as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.Hillis missed the Browns' previous two games with the strain, and is expected to be cautious throughout the week with an eye toward returning for Sunday's matchup with the host Houston Texans. There were reports that Hillis could have played last...

How to Fix the Cleveland Browns

This season marks the thirteenth straight year that the Cleveland Browns have been a virtual nonentity in the NFL. And leave it to the Browns to screw it up and win three whole games when they desperately need to lose every possible game in order to secure the likes of Andrew Luck in the draft. The Browns aren't going to get Luck, nor will they get Landry Jones, and that about...

Peyton Hillis Reportedly a No-Show for Boys and Girls Club Charity Event

While there has been little detail revealed about the situation between Peyton Hillis and the Cleveland Browns, it’s pretty obvious the relationship is not a pleasant one.  Hillis had a monster year for the Browns in 2010, but the team clearly does not value him enough to offer him a lucrative extension.  It would also [...]

Cleveland Browns A.M. Links: Coach Pat Shurmur doesn't pass the eye test; Montario Hardesty is out; are the Houston Texans playing dirty?

The Cleveland Browns are 3-4, just like the 2001 New England Patriots that won the Super Bowl.

Montario Hardesty expected to miss time with torn calf muscle

The thin Browns backfield will be even thinner over the next few weeks. Browns running back Montario Hardesty tore a calf muscle against the 49ers on Sunday, and will miss “some time” according to his coach Pat Shurmur, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. Cleveland has already been without Peyton Hillis for a few weeks. While…

Reading the keys: 49ers/Browns

Here’s how the 49ers fared on Sunday in keys to the game identified by NinersDigest before San Francisco’s 20-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns at Candlestick Park, running the Niners’ winning streak to five consecutive games and giving them their first 6-1 start since 1998 while increasing their lead to four games in the NFC West.

Cleveland Browns team report: Second-round misfires at wideout haunt passing game

Hillis was an alleged no-show at charity Halloween party

Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis has rushed for fewer yards this season (211) than Cowboys rookie DeMarco Muray had a single game (253) and he's missed more games (three) than he's been in the end zone (two). Since winning a fan vote to be put on the cover of "Madden 12," Hillis has engaged in public squabbles about his contract, missed a game because...
