The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that they hired Norv Turner as offensive coordinator. In addition, the team added Brad Roll (strength and conditioning), Mike Sullivan (offensive line) and Scott Turner (wide receivers) to the coaching staff and retained Chris Tabor (special teams coordinator) and George Warhop (offensive line). "I am very excited about the coaches we have been able to add to our staff thus far," Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said. "I have worked with Norv, Mike, Scott and Brad previously and know the quality of coaches and teachers that they are, and how much our players will benefit from their presence. "Norv has been one of the most respected offensive coaches in the NFL over the last 25 to 30 years, and he has had a tremendous amount of success at each one of his stops -- as a position coach, coordinator and head coach. I was able to learn a great deal in the time that I worked for him in San Diego, and I expect that having him as our offensive coordinator will make a big impact on that side of the ball." Turner has 38 years of coaching experience, including 14 as an NFL head coach. Turner, 60, has a career record of 114-122-1 as a head coach with the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins. Turner, who was fired Dec. 31 as head coach of the Chargers after going 55-40 in six seasons, is reunited with Chudzinski. The two worked together in San Diego during the 2009 and '10 seasons before Chudzinski left to become the Carolina Panthers' offensive coordinator. The Browns hired Chudzinski last week. Before Turner became a head coach, he served as offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys' Super Bowl-winning teams in the early 1990s and in the same role for the Chargers, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers.
